That triple murder hit & run was done by three Afro-Caribbeans, and I understand those groups already have had issues with each other in the past.

A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

The "English" riots of course. Can't be upsetting Scotland now.

As far as I have seen, police have not released any details about the perpetrator(s) apart from "Police have been given more time to question a suspect over the suspected hit-and-run deaths of three men in Birmingham during Tuesday's disorder."

Tofsirul Islam, a 22-year-old student who lives nearby, said he suddenly saw a black car drive down the middle of the road at high speed, directly into the crowd of vigilantes. He said the three men flew into the air as the car rammed them. Its windshield was completely shattered, its fender mangled and its hood sprang up, he said.
"He could have slowed down or swerved to avoid people," Mr. Islam said. "Maybe he didn't intend to kill them, but he was definitely looking for trouble."
Mr. Islam claimed the driver and his two passengers—who he said were all Afro-Caribbean—had come to the area to loot shops. West Midlands police refused to comment, saying it was too early to connect the incident to the disturbances that affected other parts of Birmingham on Tuesday night.
"People are saying it's a race issue now—blacks against Asians," said Mykel Douglas, a black youth worker and resident of Winson Green, the working-class district northwest of Birmingham city center where the incident occurred. "It's like the ethnic groups are at war with each other."
Outside the family home of one of the dead men, identified by local media as Haroon Jahan, a group of young Asians—mainly ethnic Pakistanis—vowed vengeance. "People are very angry," said a bearded man in a shalwar kameez who declined to give his name. "There's going to be retaliation. An eye for an eye."

And as I said...
The BBC appear to be less trusting of potentially biased eyewitness accounts than the Wall Street Journal. Or perhaps they're being careful not to stir up additional tensions. As far as I have seen, police have not released any details about the perpetrator(s) apart from "Police have been given more time to question a suspect over the suspected hit-and-run deaths of three men in Birmingham during Tuesday's disorder."

Doesn't matter, if that Muslim said he saw three blacks, there is no Muslim there that will doubt him. I read somewhere else (?) that several cars all containing blacks were scoping the area out before the homicide. Or, at least that is what Muslim witnesses claim.

Sikhs are probably better off. Those little swords are kind of scary, and I think the average Brit always got along with the Sikhs better.

Oh, well in that case, spread the inter-racial anger by all means, even if it's unwarranted. What harm could it do?Tyrannical wrote:Doesn't matter, if that Muslim said he saw three blacks, there is no Muslim there that will doubt him. Yeah - they were always obedient collaborators in the days of empire. They had their own cohorts in colony based regiments and colonial police forces. My dad commanded one at one point.Tyrannical wrote:Old men debate, reckless youth act.HomerJay wrote:http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2011/aug/1 ... slim-sikhs

The next riots with resurrect through ethnic tensions between Muslims and the West Indian community, particularly in Birmingham. The suspect who killed the three Asians was black, and it transpired last night that cars driven by blacks were stopping outside of mosques, and then exclaiming 'burn, burn!' from them.

Well, the Sikhs and British knew a good deal when they saw it. Convenient way to rule a colony by exploiting a repressed minority.Rum wrote:Yeah - they were always obedient collaborators in the days of empire. But I think the Sikhs may appreciate the UK more then certain other ethnic groups, and this is recognizable. Even the BNP has a few Sikh members, and even the BNP members against opening the ranks have other groups they are far more concerned with.

WE haven't had a good in this town since before I was born.

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."
