Re: Guess how old this girl is
Ani, I don't know you so well, so am not sure if you have children. I suspect you don't. If you don't, make a leap of the imagination. If you had a 10 year old daughter, would you be comfortable with her dressing thus, and 'making up' and being photographed as above, and the pictures used in the media for advertising and the like? Honest reaction, here, my dear.

Yes. I would happily allow my daughter pose for such pics if that's what she wanted.

Re: Guess how old this girl is
Let's take a look at the arguments against.
a) I find them 'disgusting' 'creepy'.
I don't so that's subjective.
b) They sexualise the child.
It's not like she's lying there legs spread.
c) paedophiles might wank over it.
This is the worst one. They might wank over pics in Avon catalogues. So what?
Not a rational reason among you

I find it equally humorous you doubt my sincerity. And a little offensive.stripes4 wrote:Animavore wrote:Yes. I would happily allow my daughter pose for such pics if that's what she wanted.![]()

Re: Guess how old this girl is
I don't particularly object to it on the grounds of paedophiles 'using' it. There will always be people who find children sexually exciting, so if they're not looking at these pictures they'll be doing something else, but what I find unpleasant is that female children are having their childhood taken away a tad early, it seems, and feeling pressure to become attractive in a sexual way, at an earlier age than when my generation were children. Pictures of children dressing in this way, in the media, magazines, ads, tv, etc, contribute to the pressure to look 'older' and more sophisticated. I think I was around 13 when I first got my hands on a lipstick and probably about 14 when I was really getting into dressing to attempt to look attractive to boys. I am still struggling with it now! Can't we just let girls be kids for a bit longer before we start telling them they need to look like a fuck bunny?

What you said. Let children be children for a little bit longer please without the marketing folk trying to sell crap to youngsters who do not know any better, unless of course you are a fan of Garry Glitter.Seraph wrote:Like I said: "These pics would be nothing more than a bit of fun if they were confined to some family photograph album. Yes they are Ani. You have little insight into child psychology. Unfortunately, the media does.

Sexualising is a much subtler thing than porn, Ani. (in reference to the 'legs spread' remark) It's about representing a person as a viable object of sexual desire, and seeking to enhance those characteristics so that sexual desire will be fostered and encouraged.

Fostered and encouraged! By who? You have no grounds for this. Only a sick person would get that from these images and they get that anyway.Bella Fortuna wrote:Sexualising is a much subtler thing than porn, Ani. I just see a little girl playing grown-up for lulz.
