Financially long term it seems to make sense here - my parents certainly weren't into the whole wedding ceremony thing (although I expect there was a little romance there) but they decided it made sense after my mum recovered from her first bout of cancer, her unlikely to outlive him and needing to pass on the joint/individual assets. A quickie in a registars office married by a friend followed by a picnic was well worth it eventually.
Men! They're all beasts!
Yeah. But isn't it wonderful?

After idly perusing some depressing information on options on how one might emigrate to the UK, marrying someone seems to be the only way to do it!
:console:
But if a wedding erupts someday, be sure to invite me. Or at least send the weblink. ;)
We already have a precedent. :levi:

True, but a lot of people don't realize that when they decide to get married.

If I can find a woman who agrees to lets me do the following:

Trick the wedding guests into a false place for the wedding. There will only be pamphlets where the wedding was to take place. This pamphlet will take them on a scavenger hunt throughout the state. The lucky few who finish the hunt get to watch the wedding.
I can live with doubt, and uncertainty, and not knowing. I think it's much more interesting to live not knowing than to have answers which might be wrong. [...] I don’t feel frightened by not knowing things, by being lost in a mysterious universe without having any purpose, which is the way it really is, as far as I can tell, possibly. It doesn’t frighten me. - Richard Feynman
