Move over Palin..meet Bachmann
Stumbled across this 'woman' a couple of days ago for the first time. I knew you had some dumb politicians in the US, but really - someone should have have this one put to sleep! FFS.

I could not watch all of that video. Bat shit crazy that woman, frightening that such folk like that get elected in the U.S.A.

No human being on the face of the earth, no government is going to take from me my right to speak, my right to protest against wrong, my right to do everything that is for the benefit of mankind. I am not here, then, as the accused; I am here as the accuser of capitalism dripping with blood from head to foot.”

I can't help myself - looking at her is like watching a horror movie you just can't turn off..
..if you can stand it watch it to the end the pastor makes a comment about mixing religion and politics. Classic.

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Michelle Bachmann. There is no other GOP candidate that is so thoroughly a product of the evangelical right, so monumentally unqualified, so dyed-in-the-wool crazy as she. I've watched her career for five years now. The videos here barely scratch the surface - do some more research on things she's said and done. Your jaw will drop.
As far as the early primary states go, she could very well win the Iowa Caususes (the polls have her leading there already, IIRC). Might do well in New Hampshire as well, and could also win South Carolina. And with that sort of momentum behind her, she could take much of Super Tuesday. And if she is the Republican Presidential nominee in 2012, that's the end of the race. Obama will win sixty or seventy States in November.

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

She could get the nomination. I think whoever gets it is either going to be a Tea Party type or else is going to be someone who rehetorically kneels and kisses the Tea Party's ring in order to prevail in the primary elections. Republican Primary voters =/= America. They are a law unto themselves. I'd say she might even have the nomination sewn up except that there is one thing, just one thing, that Republican Primary voters like even more than conservative ideological purity, and that is electability in November.Rum wrote:Ian wrote:I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Michelle Bachmann.
