Well, being a gun nut doesn't imply being nutty enough that you produce you own macadamias and pecans and are a danger to yourself, and others you do not actually intend to harm, does it?
OMG!

I may have to kick you out now. :(

The old "pop a gorilla mask on a few ducks" trick never fails!

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

If you call for a plumber and he shows up at your door alone--don't let him in!
Who knows what he might have in his bag.
General advice if you are a women alone don't let them in or at least tell someone the mechanic is coming around, in all cases asked for ID to show they are a member of the various plumbing organisations
Better yet, put your pistol in your pocket (or in its holster on your belt under your shirt) and keep your distance till he's done his work. If he attacks, shoot him.
You really do scare me as don't actually think you are joking when you say that but I can't be sure
Why would I joke about something as serious as being attacked in your own home by a criminal posing as a worker of some kind? Come into my house and attack me and you're going to get shot, no two ways about it. Simple prudence. And since the firearm is concealed, if he's legit, and does his job, gets paid and goes home, no harm, no foul.

Our Supreme Court recently ruled (in Heller) that one's home is indeed one's castle, and that the right to keep and bear arms protected by the 2nd Amendment is an individual (not a collective) right that expressly and explicitly includes the right to own and keep a handgun in your home for self-defense, even in the face of local or state anti-gun regulations prohibiting the possession of handguns.

In other words, your home is one place where it's absolutely okay to be armed.
