Merely uneducated would be forgivable.Rum wrote:He's paid to spew this mindless uneducated crap??
But I believe he's getting paid less than he used to. Fox news has forsaken him.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

What the fuck is he talking about? Moron.
Our struggle is not against actual corrupt individuals, but against those in power in general, against their authority, against the global order and the ideological mystification which sustains it.

He's after ratings via controversy. There's no ideology, nothing sentient in the mans rants. They are meant to stoke a noise and get people to tune in to his show, nothing else. He's not a moron, he's a businessman. Don't propogate a Glen Beck mindfart is my advice.sandinista wrote:What the fuck is he talking about? Moron.

Odious little shithead... not that I'm surprised.
Incidentally the man who committed these heinous acts referred to them as Stoltenberg-Jugend, in his own allusion to it being a political camp of that ilk... Obviously Glenn Beck is closer to his mentality than any of ours.

I disagree, there IS ideology behind his rants. If he is "just" a businessman than that is his ideology, profiteering.Crumple wrote:He's after ratings via controversy. Yes, in the broadest sense of the word. I was thinking about the more traditional 'left/right' paradigms.sandinista wrote:I disagree, there IS ideology behind his rants. There is no "traditional" left/right paradigm, no longer exists, not sure it ever did.

So, you and Seth are different points on the same spectrum?
It's all just one rainbow.

Not sure, don't really know much about seth. As far as I can tell he's just a provocateur. I don't read his posts. If your asking me if people have different ideologies, yes, of course they do. What I am saying is that the terms "left and right" have very little meaning.Gallstones wrote:sandinista wrote:There is no "traditional" left/right paradigm, no longer exists, not sure it ever did.

Truth to tell, when I hear that kids as young as 12 were in a camp for "young labor party supporters"... I do find that 12 is a bit young to be a card carrying party member, even the youth division.Lozzer wrote:Scumbag

Re: Glenn Beck compares youth camp to...
More than it being about indoctrinating them with regards to issues it's about them finding other political youth that they can exchange ideas with and socialise with. It might be a bit young to call yourself anything politically at that age, though it could be a matter of precocious youth as well... At any rate this camp is so summery and social in its nature that it being compared to Hitler Youth in any way is absolutely despicable, and is a page out of the killer's book in his detailing the hate for the reigning parties and approaches to politics. It's indefensible.Svartalf wrote:Truth to tell, when I hear that kids as young as 12 were in a camp for "young labor party supporters"... I would have to agree with pretty much all of that. Especially when you consider the religious (which, of course, is a political as any political party or ideology) youth camps and "sunday schools" and "faith based 'education' etc." indoctrinate to a much larger extent children much younger than 12.Eriku wrote:More than it being about indoctrinating them with regards to issues it's about them finding other political youth that they can exchange ideas with and socialise with.
