I really don't like either the vote ob or the no lynch policy. If we vote ob we're setting up a 3 kill run for the scum team. If we no lynch, what are we going to do if they don't kill ob tonight? waste even more time tomorrow with another no lynch? way to many people are using this to bail on town responsibility of looking for scum. Ob, I know this role must suck for you, but I'm more than a little concerned about you wanting to kick it just so our specials can have an opening to do their work, it's a rare game that the specials have a truly huge impact.

it maximizes our getting all specials to the double night without being detected by scum. the cost is a possible lynch of scum.

I threw it out reflexively when the appetite for lynching me seemed to be fading. but I do think we need to consider the downside.

If a couple of other people could also vote no lynch that would be great.
what do you think is the advantage of nolynch over lynching someone other than me?
I'm thinking in terms of there being a safety net so you don't get lynched today. IMV a no lynch is better then lynching you. I'm possibly being a bit paranoid as there are 5 hours to go till nightfall.

there are a couple people I'm willing to lynch-vote if that's where most of you want to go.

I'd add zigmen to that list ob, the way he not only voted for you but mentioned he'd final vote felt a bit to much like a bum rush to close down the convo before everything was considered.

I thought he raised because he probably won't be back online before nightfall. I usually find him suspicious no matter what his role, but thatb doesn't ping for me.

The Innsmouth Look Day 2

Post by Don't Panic » Fri Jul 08, 2011 8:05 pm

Christ, what a clusterfuck of a day, Ob, noble sentiment but lynching you loses us 3 players, as someone already pointed out, unless the blocker hits scum one of the nights.

I see your point about giving the specials a better chance, but no one has outed so let's force scum to use one of their kills on you.

In the meantime we have one practically cleared town player, and hopefully a couple more by the time the powder meets the flame.

Sorry for parroting other players, but a nolynch is almost as bad as killing you, we need to take our best guess at scum today and try for damage limitation afterwards if scum take you out.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

I didn't know how it would go. I'm glad my instinct was to wait until the day was beyond half done.

let's see if this starts anything.
