that really makes no sense dp. you seem to be saying that irre is lying. which would make her scum. do you really think that scum would take a risk like that night 1? So she blocks herself to find out what the message is, doesn't get one so makes something up so that she can be lynched if the block is ever successful? because if she really didn't get one, the first time someone IS blocked and doesn't get one, irre would be lynched. I mean making up shit is part of a scum repertoire but irre isn't stupid enough to make something up that will be conflicted with every other time the block is used.

B. Tern, ksen and zigmen at the moment, but not based on much more than gut feelings and agreeing with other people's opinions, I'll give it a fresh read tomorrow and see if I come up with anything better.

(I was highly amused in the game I recently GMed at TR where some players were digging through my old games looking for mechanics that I might have reused. They were spending more time trying to guess my design elements than scumhunting.

It's a good thing I've quit using a lot of the elements they were expecting.)

I wouldn't expect Aza to be predictable on an element like block notifications.

Mantis seems to be in the process of changing her game play on here, to more resemble TR's. Which means she comes across as more detached and tentative. I don't have a good read on her. It would be interesting to put her under lynch pressure to get more out of her. Although, her first post whiteknighting linus would be sloppy scum play from her, and I know she's better at scum than that. Gut feel is town.

I'm not seeing the detached, tentative thing. I think her game has in some ways gotten more decisive. I think I need to reread her posts from day 1.

Like I said in my last will and testament post, I'm getting a town vibe from her, but sometimes when I feel in synch with her she's scum. The Monopoly game comes to mind.

I think I need to reread her Elfquest day 1 posts, too. IIRC the whole scum team was exposed on day 1 due to the timing of their posts and deflecting attention from each other.

If I were to go with a town vibe, I'd be wanting to triangulate with Charlou or Mantis today.

I think this game needs some kind of oomph in it, so any town triangulation would be a good thing. Feck is not around, it seems. By rights, b.tern should be lynched for her vote and posts yesterday, but shit that lets dp and ksen off the hook, not even voting.

The body of Linus is found in the town square. A single gunshot wound to the back of the head appears to be the cause of death.

Does this kill seem to fit the flavor for a Scum kill?

Also, one kill seems a bit sparse for a game this size.

This is what bothers me.

Linus was a strong candidate for lynch yesterday. Mixed reviews? Perhaps . . . But he seemed to me to have slipped up on the mention of the NK early on. Maybe i do Trolley Track, but I couldn't shake my suspicion of him if he was still alive today.

So, Scum would have known he was Town, right? Yet here he is dead today.

You mentioned an SK (I'm guessing that was based on flavor) might have killed him. Again, perhaps you are correct, though I lean toward thinking it was a Vig.

But a Scum kill? Hard to believe they would kill a suspicious player.

This leads me to believe that Scum was blocked last night, and we know right away who that was.

But, would Irre admit to being blocked if she was the Scum nightkiller? I think she would, or risk the simple situation of the blocker outing her for not admitting she was blocked.

Yeah, but the Star trek game, right?

I mentioned sk simply based on the kill method - bullet to the back of the head. I associate execution-style kills with scum and SKs.

though town assuming the vig kill would be sniper-style in my elfquest game was a mistake. the kill method was based on the character more than the role.

I don't know this tale anywhere near well enough to assume an SK. but with 16 players, I'd assume either an SK or a vig. possibly a one-shot, but I doubt it.

also, scum would target a suspicious player if they thought the player was a special. that was my first thought when I saw that linus was the kill. and that gave me pause, thinking about other players who came under fire yesterday.

of your list, the one who pings the most to me is ksen.

Now that the night kill is there for evaluation, my major concerns are ksen (being too quiet), athene (being too helpful and analytical), irre (due to being blocked, and the kill not being unambiguously a scum kill), and Charlou because I'm trying to figure out why I think she's town, besides other players I think are town agreeing with her.

feck and b.tern are falling a bit on my scumdar. If Irre turns out to be town, then my concerns about feck will shoot back up, though.
