Keep your Jesus out of my Veteran's cemetery?
Keep your Jesus out of my Veteran's cemetery?
This link came across Facebook, posted by a fundie-leaning relative. It's from the the American Family Association, so I have to take it with a Blarney stone sized grain of salt, but they're claiming the head of a vet's cemetery in Houston has taken steps to try to prevent prayer at services there, even at a private chapel off the grounds. Given the knee-jerk, sky-is-falling nature of the AFA and its ilk I suspect this is an overblown, paranoid reaction to some minor policy statement, but I the only references I can find to the dispute are on the slavering "America is a Christian Nation" sites... anybody know the real story (or non-story) behind this?

If they have not provided a link or any references, then it is usually safe to assume that it's complete and utter bullshit.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Meh, they don't provide more than hearsay to support their claim, so far as I can tell. The VA may or may not comment on this. When/if they do I'll hear what actually happened there I think.
