Another Ethiopian crisis

So, a million people are suffering from starvation, and all because of a seasonal drought. Yet again, the west is expected to pick up the bill, and all for another African country's financial irresponsibility. I don't mean to be a cunt, but when you have a social policy of 'no contraception', this is what occurs. The booming population becomes vulnerable to the slightest destabilisation, and they all suffer a result. Giving foreign aid won't resolve the issue, it'll just exacerbate it in the long term. What do we do, and why should we do anything at all? The only reasonable approach is to do nothing, and hope that the population is 'rebalanced'.
