Hear about the latest pocket sized cold fusion reactor?

:blah: :blah: :blah: too good to be true, I know.

Nickel, pressurized hydrogen gas, a catalyst and heat is all it takes to cause the hydrogen to fuse with the nickel.

Not much bigger than a Mr. Fusion either.

Check out the youtube video
One Nobel laureate thinks they might be on to something. We should all know for sure by the end of this year, as they are supposed to deliver a 1 mega watt cold fusion heater this October.
Dr. Brian Josephson, winner of the 1973 Nobel Prize in Physics for his work on superconductivity, has recently released a YouTube video of an interview of himself conducted by Judith Driscoll, Professor of Materials Science at Cambridge University. The stated purpose of the video is to wake up the media to the E-Cat story, which has not been widely reported on in the mainstream media of the English-speaking world. While some cold fusion advocates hypothesize the existence of a conspiracy of silence to suppress news with such important implications, Josephson suggests the silence is more due to an unwillingness of the traditional media outlets (both general and scientific) to risk appearing credulous by simply reporting on the story.

Prototypes by the end of July, regular production in November, and home units in January?

If this is fake, it'll start unraveling soon.

http://coldfusionnow.wordpress.com/2011 ... om-greece/
The Greek website energypress.gr has a recent press release apparently giving details on Defkalion Green Technologies‘ commercial arrangements ahead of their press conference.

Among the details:

The company’s funding is completely private.
The company has €300-400 million in investments.
The company will build three industrial units in Xanthi, Thrace.
Apart from the large demonstration reactor, the company will produce large 1-3 MW units and smaller 10-30 kW household units.
The first prototype reactors will be produced by the end of July, regular production will begin in November, and the first household units will be introduced next January.
The cost of the device (household unit?), used as a water and space heater, will be €4000-5000.
A converter to produce electricity from the unit will cost an extra €500-900
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

Yeah, but they have avoided the obvious mistakes. Xanthi Greece where they are building their manufacturing plant is home to nickel mines and a nickel-cadmium battery manufacturer. So if nickel-hydrogen fusion is real, they picked a good spot.

This is interesting. The only thing that counts right now is does it work. How it might work can be worked out later.
The evidence that it does work seems better that the 'perendev magnet motor' scams.
It seems independent scientists got a good look at all the equipment except the small reactor cell.

I would like to see a lab set-up their own measuring equipment to confirm energy in and out.
It would be good to see the claim that the nickel fuel converts to copper tested in controlled circumstances, but I guess that requires disclosure of what is in the reactor cell.

No such thing ever happened in Ireland. Nothing to see here. Please move on. Repeat, nothing like this happened in Ireland. We have no snake oil salesmen here...

We don't fall for the "free lunch", we know we can't get something for nothing. This is why our economy is in such rude and robust health...

Is this the sort of thing Doc Brown fitted to the DeLorean after he took it into the future? :ugeek:

If this is genuine it isn't a free lunch, any more than the oxidation of hydrocarbons is a free lunch to power your car.
E = mc2
Nuclearfusion can release huge amounts of energy per mass. The 'fuel' gets used up - nickel becomes copper.
