Are politicians sometimes right!?

Post by Rum » Mon Jun 20, 2011 8:46 pm

:o

I know! Was thinking about the issue here in the UK to do with raising the age of retirement, which has for women been raised to 65 sooner than was anticipated. Everyone hates it. Everyone objects but the politicians say we can't afford not to go down that road!

Maybe they are right.

Oh - I retired at 60 as it turns out. :hehe: I am one of the last to take advantage of richer times, I am aware.

You can retire at any age, and cash in a pension from 50. It just depends on how much you've paid in to a pension scheme.

My mate, Stuart, retired last year - aged 51! His redundancy money paid off his mortgage and his pension matches his monthly earnings less his mortgage payments - lucky bastit! Almost makes me wish I had had a shit factory job for 30 years and never spent above my means... almost! :tea:

Polticians are right if their technocrats and wrong in all other instances. That is why we need a revolution Rum. Not to remove a party system but a mindset based on 'soft style thinking' :smoke:
