I feel like the recent credit crunch/inflation/general panic has caught up with us now when previously we didn't seem particularly affected by it, us not driving etc.. Food prices are going to fuck us over this month I think, we got paid today and I'm planning on taking out what we can afford for the months food budget and putting each weeks into envelopes so I actually watch what I'm spending.

No, none of that inflation stuff around here! Nosiree Bob! It's all just fine-n-dandy, fine-n-dandy! According to our gummint, that is. Thing is, they decided to exclude food and gas from the latest calculations because they're too (wait for it.........)volatile. See? So all this stuff about how you can't afford to eat or drive your car is just in your head, cuz there's NO inflation!
