Bella, I think with the right hair style and one of those classic 1940's dresses, you could play Ilsa. Image

You have the pretty blue eyes, the blonde hair and the Nordic features...

I'll cast you for the part, if you like...here...have a seat on my casting couch..... :plot:

EDIT: I would have to cast myself as Bogie, and then change the plot to where Bogie sends Victor Laszlo off with Captain Renault to fight in the French Foreign Legion, and you and I fly off to Lisbon together...

The Wizard of Oz was better when it turned colour also.

About me: I am an intellectual, a member of the Outer Party, and I live in the ruins of London. I grew up in the post-Second World War UK, during the revolution and the civil war after which the Party assumed power. During the civil war, Ingsoc placed me in an orphanage for training and subsequent employment as a civil servant. I maintain a squalid existence, living in a one-room apartment, eating a subsistence diet of black bread and synthetic meals washed down with Victory-brand gin. I keep a journal of negative thoughts and opinions about the Party and Big Brother, which, if discovered by the Thought Police, will warrant death, so don't tell on me. I am fortunate, because the apartment I live in has an alcove, beside the telescreen, where it cannot see me, and so my thoughts remain private.

Just watch the colorized version of Casablanca. Image
To the future or to the past, to a time when thought is free, when men are different from one another and do not live alone — to a time when truth exists and what is done cannot be undone: From the age of uniformity, from the age of solitude, from the age of Big Brother, from the age of doublethink — greetings!

We'll need to update the script, of course, no one is interested in white people living in some raghead country with a bunch of moldy old Nazis. We'll modernize. Set it in New York in a Hip Hop club. Rick is an Hispanic B-Boy who owns the club, Elsa is black contemporary/jazz dancer who used to go out with him but is now with Victor, a low-level Russian mobster and crumper trying to get into the Federal Witness Protection program. Renault is a corrupt but likable NYPD Detective, Strasser is a humorless FBI agent, Ferriari is the Russian mafia kingpin. The climatic scene is a dance off between Rick and Victor when Rick realizes that Ilsa must go with Victor to open a dance school for underprivileged illegal immigrant children in Arizona. He raises his Colt 45 malt liquor to Ilsa and says "Yo Hoe". Set to a driving Hip Hop score with choreography by Nappy Tabs and Lil' C. Shot in Imax 3D.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Speculation of a 'Casablanca' remake has taken over Twitter after a poster leaked earlier this afternoon.

The poster, which features Anne Hathaway and Bradley Cooper, is almost an exact replica of the classic 1942 poster, down to the hair, leading some to believe that this will be a shot-for-shot remake.

Warner Bros. Pictures has declined to comment on the poster, but Bradley Cooper's publicist issued a statement saying, "Bradley has long been a fan of Humphrey Bogart's work and would be honored to play Rick Blaine if the opportunity arose."

Rumors have been swirling that Michael Bay, who has been working on a secretive project, might be the director helming this picture.

Although it would be sacrilege to attempt to remake Casablanca, and my first thought was that no actor alive today could even approach Bogart, I can think of one actor I would like to see tackle the role - Robert Downey Jr. - He has that dissolute, slightly unsavoury but with a heart of gold thing down to a tee.

RDJr? the guy who so roundly slaughtered the character of Sherlock Homes not long ago?
I wouldn't do that... I don't need another massacre of the classics to satisfy the ego of somebody whose character, certes, is interesting, but better suited to vehicles with no expectations attached.
