Our gormless minister for education has fucked things up big time - possible in fact to the point where in my particular case I could have avoided redundancy.
To keep it simple, the new 'academies' programme means one out of every six secondary schools came out of the control of Local Authorities (where I worked) and got the money we used for support services (special educational needs, welfare, child psychiatry and so on) direct to them. The government clawed back that money from local authorities. It now looks like they have set in motion a clawback of £400 million more than they should have. LAs have threatened to take them to court for a 'judicial review' as it is called and the government have asked them not to while they look again at the funding.
Michael minuscule brained Gove, who pushed all this through out of totally unfounded ideological motivation is in the shit. And so he should be.
Bottom line - a good proportion of people who recently lost their jobs may well have not needed to if the U turn takes place, which looks likely.
Can I have my job back please?
On second thoughts stick it up your arse.
Oh - here's the little twat in all his glory.
