Re: Starfleet Day 3
There have been quite a few games lately it seems like where there have been one-shot abilities.
Re: Starfleet Day 3
I'm just trying to work out possible scenarios for what might have happened last night. Alternatively, a town blocker (assuming this green haired blocker is scum for the moment) blocked the other scum who was penciled in to do the kill.ksen wrote:I'm claiming I switched Oblivion and Mantis. I have no idea what scum did or didn't do but apparently they at least tried to block Oblivion.
And ftr I've seen scum teams in the past do a block and a kill on the same person if they thought that person had powerz that could harm them before the kill went off or if the kill went awry for some reason.
You all do have to specify who among scum has to do the hit in your games, right?
Re: Starfleet Day 3
Sorry, I misread. In my defence it's late and I'm stuffed.ksen wrote:That's nice and all but where did I say anything that could be interpreted as thinking a "green haired Romulan" was a town blocker?Adenosine wrote:Er, no. Mantis said she was blocked by a green haired Romulan plying her with Synthanol right? Or was that Irre?

I do not want for this to get lost.Bilirubin wrote:After having read briefly the discussion that took place while I was trying to sleep I have a general question for you all. How often do scum attempt elaborate gambits like creating and reinforcing a mythical role block (but getting specific details wrong) in your games? How often do scum teammates protect each other with these gambits?

Yea, I've been in games where this is done. (something like that has a Feck flavour to it)..ksen wrote:I'm claiming I switched Oblivion and Mantis. I have no idea what scum did or didn't do but apparently they at least tried to block Oblivion.

Maybe what happened was scum tried to block Ob, and kill someone who was protected. (so, not Ob). Either that or ya - block and kill the same person.
Re: Starfleet Day 3
Like ksen said there's been a hell of a lot of one shots used lately. There was also a recent game, Reservoir Dogs, where scum blocked and killed on the same night frequently.Bilirubin wrote:How often in your games are such limited role abilities used?ksen wrote:Night 2 was the only night I was able to make a move.Feck wrote:Ksen did you swap anyone on Night one ?Adenosine wrote:Interesting, so why block Ob but not kill her? Who would they be more interested in killing?
grit, I'm still 50:50 on Irre but I could go town on her definitely. If I'm wrong she's played the hell out of me.

I can't remember a time that it has worked (not to say much at this time of night) but I know it's been discussed in writeboards.Bilirubin wrote:I do not want for this to get lost.Bilirubin wrote:After having read briefly the discussion that took place while I was trying to sleep I have a general question for you all. interesting that you don't comment on whether or not u think it is a good catch - fos u for this feckFeck wrote:Adenosine wrote:Ooh, good catch.
How panicked do you think scum is right now? They lost Denny out of the gate and the hunting has been pretty good so far. What sort of crazy stunts would they pull to get someone to endgame?
curious post this, I'm suspicious of cheerleading and Ade should know good scum don't panic

Re: Starfleet Day 3
Not very often. The last time I remember scum pulling off a bunch of shenanigans was in the TR House Mafia game. It was a game where the seer view was passed around. Scum claimed to view one of their own (gib - who had a posting restriction, could only say yes/no) as an indy. In fact, I think the person (Supernaut) who claimed he had the view, actually didn't.. I think one of his other team mates did. They managed to have us believe there were 2 indies in the game. Irre was helping gib out in the thread by presenting questions for him to answer to. Then at the end of the game, they all came crawling out of the woodwork to do a last minute vote switch. They had a few other 'gambits' as well... can't remember exactly. But I don't really often see people claiming roleblocks... only person I see a lot of scheming from his Zigmen. ... which is why everyone always thinks he's scumBilirubin wrote:After having read briefly the discussion that took place while I was trying to sleep I have a general question for you all. In a Zigmen game a few months ago, I was a town compatible serial killer who also got a view on night 2. There have also been one-shot abilities that weren't paired with other special abilities.

Definitely interesting catch with UT though.
Re: Starfleet Day 3
It's not an every day occurrance, but it definitely happens occasionally. sometimes with resultst that are of a delightfulness.Bilirubin wrote:I do not want for this to get lost.Bilirubin wrote:After having read briefly the discussion that took place while I was trying to sleep I have a general question for you all. Re: Starfleet Day 3
ksen: why out now? What advantage do you think this information gives town at this junction?
Re: Starfleet Day 3
here is a countervailing thought:
If mantis put in both a block and a kill on me, and ksen switched us? would not mantis be alive today? Lately, role blockers have been doing both the kill and their block sometimes in order to limit scum exposure by watchers or trackers. at least that's how it started.

This also should not be lost.gib wrote:UT, i'm assuming this post was in response to bili asking you if you are paying attention to the game. In that case i have to ask what you mean by:Uselesstwit wrote:yes, yes we are. he wasn't involved much in the late night chatter, but right out of the gate he slams down a vote that most people are going to be okay with. Then he unvotes with the barest excuse and only after questions the rational. Also, i really don't buy mantis's story. if you'll notice she says the green ROMULAN, when has a gm ever given away the alignment of a blocker like that? Something smells, i don't like her story and i don't like how quickly bili bought it.
yes, yes we are
