A law against dancing at the Jefferson Memorial.
A law against dancing at the Jefferson Memorial.
Re: No dancing at the Jefferson Memorial.
The video quality is awful. I am having a tough time getting to the end of it. Did anyone get arrested? What is going on further?

Some Russian guy was arrested, and that generated this protest. I don't know if anyone at the protest was arrested. I doubt it.

TJ still has groupies, or what? Why would someone get so excited about his birthday as to go dance at his memorial? Baiting the police for the reaction and subsequent civ lib lawsuit?

Good enough reason, if that were the case.FBM wrote:TJ still has groupies, or what? Why would someone get so excited about his birthday as to go dance at his memorial? Baiting the police for the reaction and subsequent civ lib lawsuit?

This issue has been turning over in the back of my mind for a day or two....
I don't think there should be a law that says people will be criminally prosecuted for dancing at the Memorial.
I think that current laws on disturbing the peace are sufficient.

Our struggle is not against actual corrupt individuals, but against those in power in general, against their authority, against the global order and the ideological mystification which sustains it.

Nothing. I'm not even whinging. I was also not part of the conversation to which your comment alludes.sandinista wrote:so what are you doing about it besides whinging?Coito ergo sum wrote:This issue has been turning over in the back of my mind for a day or two....

I know CES, not really directed at you, just at the stupidity of the notion. I know you're not whinging, no one really is on an internet forum, it's made for discussion.Coito ergo sum wrote:Nothing. I'll complain from time to time. I'm just not complaining now.
