I'm not completely sure about this, but I think I may be Dyslexic. I can write and write for long periods of time, then on review my sentences can be completely incoherent. I mean to write something, but there's often a missing word which I presumed I had written down. I can write poetically, but then on further observation find that the sentences make no sense all (Literally or abstractly). Soon I will be participating in my final exams for GCSE English, and I really can't afford to bugger up.
Is there any possible way to get a official diagnosis? Within reason I suppose you will all recommend the doctors but I think that's a little over the top--like dropping an atomic bomb to rid a few ants.

Dyslexia tends to get picked up quite early. Teachers spot it and you find yourself hauled out of class and tested. I have a mild dyslexia and it is not uncommon at lla.
It's a piece of piss to be cowiz, but it's not cowiz to be a piece of piss. Or something like that.

I don't think you have dyslexia. I do the same thing from time to time. I need to review every post I make because I sometimes type completely different words to the ones I thought I was writing. It is your brain wandering when you are writing and your motor cortex going into automatic.
You don't misunderstand what you write, you just write crap instead of what you think you are writing. What you describe sounds more like some kind of ADD.
Make sure you proof read everything before you submit.
And go to a doctor FFS if you think there is something wrong with you. If you don't want to reveal details of your life to your family GP, ring up NHS Direct, or call in at one of their drop-in centres.

Is it only handwritten stuff, Lozzer? Your posts don't seem to indicate dyslexia.

Mainly yes, this is particularly a problem when writing essays in exams--I often do not have enough time to proof read.

Re: Another 'Help me' thread
I have a mild form of dyslexia that results in extremely slow handwriting speed and weak short term auditory memory. I'll easily forget details of stuff that I hear. Needless to say, for a musician this is highly annoying.
However, I only found out about a few years ago when I took an IQ test at Oxford. Just to say that you might have some form of dyslexia and not know it, but I wouldn't really worry about it.
