The only thing I ever watch (and that, rarely) is PBS and TCM. Strangely they tell me I have only the basic local channel package, but I get all the regular cable channels as well.anna09 wrote:Thinking Aloud wrote:What's this "TV" thing you mentioned?![]()
My husband and I have decided to get rid of our cable. The few times we actually sit down to watch tv there's never anything on and our bill keeps going up! It's currently at $70 for the most basic package they offer.

The only show we watch regularly is House and occassionally make fun of the christian channels after we find out nothing else is on.Bella Fortuna wrote:The only thing I ever watch (and that, rarely) is PBS and TCM. I love cable. It's the non-cable channels that suck. I like the History Channel, History International, Science Channel, Biography Channel, BBC America, National Geographic, Military History Channel, Discovery, Turner Classics, Comedy Central, PBS, cable news, etc., and there are the various movies that are available on cable. TV is far less of a wasteland than it was when I was a kid.

I am also a television viewer.

I watch the evening news on my TV and not much more. Don't ask me how to change channels.

I'm a male - I never ask directions or read instruction manuals.Thinking Aloud wrote:Faithfree wrote:I distinctly asked you not to ask that ...Santa_Claus wrote:How do you change channels?Faithfree wrote:I watch the evening news on my TV and not much more. Don't ask me how to change channels.
Your TV will have come with a manual. If you go and have a quick read, you'll really impress Santa.

Lady Gaga? Is that the Nexus 2 Replicant whose designers have not quite got out of the "uncanny valley" zone? I think its an impressive technological achievement even as it fails to impress me as being a lifelike or artistic one, certainly a step in the right directions after the utter uselessness of the Nexus 1's like Paris Hilton.

I can't remember the last time I watched one of the non-cable channels. 'Zilla and I watch pretty much those same channels along with DVD's and streaming movies from Netflix. I get my news from CNN, NPR and BBC. The local NPR station broadcasts BBC World Service at night and I listen to that on my way home from work.Coito ergo sum wrote:I love cable. Regarding Lady Gaga, I've only heard a couple of her songs. I kinda liked them. Don't know enough about her to be able to comment on anything else she may have done.

I can enjoy her stuff. Bouncy tunes for club nights, although there's far better stuff out there for that kind of thing (which is also why I far prefer Ke$ha. My god, she's gorgeous, funny, rough... my kind of girl).
