To the tune of a very long string of zeroes, but that's not why we are being graced with their presence.
I have no problem at all with the visit, but I do a have a problem with those who do have a problem. Some people just won't grow up.

Actually I'm not.

But it was kinda neat to be able to say I saw the old creakers in person once.

They really are a relic of the past, sentimentally cared for and trotted out like living heirlooms. I wonder what they really think about their 'privileged' lives, if they think in any depth about it at all.

Oddly this visit is one of the few 'practical' in a political sense functions they have performed in decades. This visit marks the 'normalisation' of relations between Ireland and the UK. Long overdue to many of us.

And as I am ready to point out to any green-tinted republicans over here, some of the worst excesses by the British against the Irish were carried out under ... Cromwell.

You just know PtG will make some off colour joke about potatoes or indulge in a misjudged Michael Flatley impersonation. There's probably a Foreign Office mandarin assigned to walk behind him, apologising.

The Queen is very clever, and does think a great deal, I imagine. Philip is a thick twat.
