I'm reading Simon Winchester's The Meaning of Everything, The Story of the Oxford English Dictionary.

A good read ... not at all stodgy as the title might suggest.

ALso I am reading catch-22. I haven't read it since I was in Middle school. I found it at a garage sell for 50 centers. :>

I am a slow reader these days as I only ever read sitting on the toilet or just occasionally if I have a rest on the bed in the afternoon. So I am still reading Hitch 22 (Christopher Hitchens memoires) after about three weeks and I am about 2/3 of the way through.

His account of moving his allegiance, thinking and politics from the far left to the libertarian/democratic centre, away from people as a 'resource' to the importance of individual liberty and freedom as encapsulated in the American Constitution, which he adores, is fascinating, even if at times, it is coloured and perhaps slightly reduced by the fact of his seduction by the glamour of New York and the power politics of Washington.

Wonderfully though, you can hear his wonderful voice in all he writes. A very entertaining and enlightening read.
