This is a non sequitur but as it isn't couched in delusional ranting I will answer it, firstly I never said anything about that, I was talking about how the French are quite successful militarily. Try and keep up, no one is making that analogy, that's another thing you invented.

No we couldn't the first time because the French helped you directly with ships and trade goods etc and we couldn't commit enough land troops over such vast distances to a lengthy war without weakening our position vis a vis France. The second time because we were made deliberately fearful of France to keep our eyes off our previous colonial acquisitions, then the Napoleonic wars happened and that was the end of that. You can be damn sure though that without the French you would still be part of the commonwealth.
