MZ I still find your suggestion of outing the code word to really be out there, given the means of ensuring she's armed at endgame.

Then I've missed something about codewords.

I have to go in 15 mins. Then I will be gone for 12 hours min.
I recommend you don;t think of my suggestion as anything more than town paranoia.

But, it has been triggered by Charlou's own recent games where she is looking for intricate scum ploys and also her outing, which I thought was to be avoided at all costs.

I quoted the PG just a few posts ago. It says that scum know more about the code words than town does.

the obvious thing would be that learning a code word would give scum power over a player - recruitment, for instance. And we know that there is some undisclosed circumstance in which the specials lose their abilities. Given the game elements it probably has something to do with the code words.

Weigh the codeword warning against the warning about specials outing.

unvote praying; vote MZ

I don't know what's worse - Aza suggesting a massclaim or MZ asking for codewords. I think we need to accept charlou's claim at face value. Asking for anything more to 'verify' makes me think you have information we don't.

The PG says this about codes:
Why a code?

Well, let's just say that you might not want Scum to know that you have 4 points and only have to stick you with 2 more points to fully arm your vest . . .

But Scum knows a little bit more about these codes than Town does . . .[/b]
Charlou said she needed to avoid getting to 7 points.
What else is there to know? She's spilled the beans on this.

The recruitment thing is possible I grant you.

One major concern we are facing is that of Specials. They cannot die until the end of the game, so they have little reason to remain secret. We believe that we have found a way around this, though I won't explain how. Specials will be told of specific conditions that may render their power useless. IOW, their secrecy will benefit them. This should also help Scum from being able to fake-claim without fear of repercussions.
Maybe. Though it could be bundled up in the code word mechanics. Every day, if our point counts change, another letter is revealed. Instead of trying to decypher N codewords, scum can focus on a few.

I dunno. Something to think about. And, if you (or anyone else) is concerned, there's a fairly simple solution.

Would you like to provide evidence for drawing that conclusion?

I will not vote Charlou on the basis of probablity. She is probably who she says she is.
And I will not be rendering her powerless if that is the case.

I suggest not letting my vote get up too high while I'm gone.
It's in town's best interests. This will be a long game I think.

Gonzo, I have an inkling you are not coming clean with your points score. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I'm not damning you at this time. No one should think that I have a special read on you. But I'm leaving my vote on you for today. I will temper my use of the word "probably" scum. Possibily is better.

Mantis just looks scummy.

I'm late.

OK, finally caught up.

Oblivion (among others), can you please explain to me what I have said/done to show up so strongly on your scumdar?

I am also suspicious of charlou's claim. Having re-read the first day thread, I have realised that we really don't have anything other than her word to take for it. Yes, she had points added overnight, but I can see that as a scum tactic - she certainly didn't have enough added to arm her vest. I'm also wondering about her claim because she says that she can "protect" people from having points added, yet UT clearly had points subtracted. Is it too much to hope that we've got TWO "doctors" working for town?

I definitely had 1 point added last night. Whoever (Feck?) said that scum would lie about this, is FoSing out his arse. Why would scum only lie about 1 point? They could lie about any number of points - how would we know?

Also, the OP said there would be no indies. We have to stop thinking SK or vig.

You are wrong and your accusation is baseless. You have provided no reason to think this or vote for me - just some assumption - and you think it's fair to say I am 'probalay scum'?

I'm still really interested in what's made you draw this conclusion - or to what benefit I would have to lie about it.
