Independence Day has a lot to answer for. This looks like a decent saturday-night 5 pint movie though. Anything that contains the solemn and stirring line "We've lost contact with Rio de Janiero, Tokyo and New York. We CANNOT lose Los Angeles" can't be all bad.....
