I deserve absolutely NO credit for staying in this game so long, as I was nursed right the way through by the rest of the scummers. It actually made their job harder, like soldiers carrying aheavy pack on a route march! However, once they were dead (and stopped checking the writeboard to help me, goddammit!) I had to get all indignant and stroppy. :hehe:

I have to say though, I really did not have a clue about many things. Not understanding the mayor rule was genuine. Not understanding the ways a doc role worked - genuine.
I was pming Aza for advice!! Also, from what Char said, ought we not post on the PG/rules thread, even with innocuous nonsense? Sorry if I shouldn't have done that.

Anyway, back to the real world and my neglected children!! What a marathon.

She tried to recruit oblivion. The cult was seriously nerfed to keep it from getting out of hand. Attempting to recruit scum or a town special was a suicide move. I put the backup recruiter and the lovers in to give them a chance
I was feeling pretty down about being spotted as scum so easily. It did a bit for my ego to find out that gib knew I'd been targeted for recruitment.

Still, next time you guys make noise about how dangerous I must be as scum, I'm going to laugh at you.

Great job M! I felt so bad for you, being the last scum in a sea of town there at the end. You did well!
You could have been a town special so working out that you were scum wasn't handed to me on a plate :colbert:

I know, but it narrowed things way down for you.

The bigger problem for me was phone-posting. I didn't even know I was tied with Jerome when I posted my last will and testament. I probably wouldn't have posted it if I had realized the lynch was going to be a coin toss.

Even so, it plus DP's and Feck's late votes gave scum some cover. That's about the best I could hope for.

Neat end.

Thanks for running the game Azathoth.
"What a man believes upon grossly insufficient evidence is an index into his desires -- desires of which he himself is often unconscious. If a man is offered a fact which goes against his instincts, he will scrutinize it closely, and unless the evidence is overwhelming, he will refuse to believe it. If, on the other hand, he is offered something which affords a reason for acting in accordance to his instincts, he will accept it even on the slightest evidence. The origin of myths is explained in this way."

Same thing with the Contra role .. apart from Contra, only I knew about it due to the circumstances of the subbing.

It was a kinda botched game, but not really due to any malintent on anyone's part ... just a series of unfortunate events, so to speak. Pretty sure those closest to the errors will learn from them. I'd like to think I have.

In the end, I find the irony of it all amusing, given the premiss of the game: ratz drama hehe.
I realize there was not mal intent. But it is not a situation that can be minimized by saying it was only this and only that. It was p. huge that two players had inside information. It was down to what --4 or 5 town? And two of you know something about the lovebird pair that would make fosing them useless. It was a big handicap.
