Actually I'm seeing it as more of a tie. I think the best of McCartney is equal to the best of Lennon. They're just very different is all. And on a personal level, I favor Paul. As good as Lennon's stuff is (and make no mistake, it's very good), Paul's songs speak to me in a way that John's don't.stripes4 wrote:Tatt I am loving your illustrative comparisons here. McCartney is a trite twat with as much artistic integrity and depth as a saucer of piss.
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

I mean, has John ever wrote a song like this?
I didn't think so. I rest my case
p.s. I wonder if Dev actually thinks McCartney is better than Lennon, or if he was just taking the piss

I think this song is dull, trite, shallow and whiny. I don't agree with you at all, Tatt. I hope we can still be friendstattuchu wrote:I mean, has John ever wrote a song like this?

Of course we can still be friends, though our relationship will now be somewhat strainedstripes4 wrote: I think this song is dull, trite, shallow and whiny. I don't agree with you at all, Tatt. I hope we can still be friends

Actually, I was wondering what Brits thought of that song. My understanding is that it was hugely popular over there, selling a record number of copies. You might therefore be sick to death of it. Over here, though, it's virtually unknown. It received no airplay at all. I only discovered it because it was the B-side of a single. To me, this song is breathtakingly beautiful. It's pure Macca magic.

One of Paul's best songs (co-written by Denny Laine) from my favorite Wings album, London Town:

They're just waiting their turn.
