Mass vaccination and its effect on population

Knowledge needed! Mass vaccination programs have been around for a while now, so what effect are they having on world population? And what effect are they projected to have, a generation or two down the line? Is there evidence that lower child mortality leads to people having smaller families on average, or is knocking out a natural curb on population growth just exacerbating overpopulation? Or do they cancel out?
