Re: Ratz Drama Mafia Day 1
Hello again, everyone. Just finished catching up.
One shouldn't rule out the possibility of an SK having elliminated Gull, imo. I don't see the effectiveness of Gull's strategy in essentially roleclaiming. Perhaps it was to keep town guessing while looking just suspicious enough to avoid being a scum target come nightfall which kind of makes sense but not really. Who knows. However I think that there is a possibility that Gull might have just as easily been mistaken for a pro-town role and potentially special by whoever took him (or her?) out. There are always more town than scum and a perceived town special is always a good prize for an SK or scum day killer. On the other hand a perceived Indy of any type could have been construably taken out by either a town or scum day killer because they tend to be bad news for either side.
Having said all that I really have never been in a game where someone could just randomly kill during the day. The closest thing to it that I've personally experienced was in a game on FF called Color Cult Mafia where one of the players had a one-time shot at the "Color Cult Killer" and if they were wrong then nobody died and they couldn't make another attempt. It was a very atypical game though.
So far this game is shaping up to be quite the new experience regarding some aspects.

I'm home now, and reviewing the last several pages. I'll try not to bump half the thread with questions.

Hmm... what is with Callan's change of pace this game?! I'm happy with my vote where it is for now.
Denny: lol that you say my first post pings. At least DP and I got the thread started. I can see it's a good strategy to slide into the game many hours into it, to attract less attention, but I like posting.

FoS Denny, I just reread your summary.. you didn't even mention callan, and no mention of the little spat between her and gib?!

Did Feck ever vote?Feck wrote:I'm waiting until some more people actually turn up and start talking before I vote ,Day one around here too often has been bitch fight between town players while scum sit back and watch .
Ok, so is this the post that Gib was asking about? I dunno. If Adem were scum in a new environment, would he have asked other scum players for a little input? Assuming for the moment that Irre is town, she's not easy pickings for a scum-led lynch. If she's scum, would a new-to-ratz scum try to bus her?Adem wrote:Checking in.
vote: irre, simply for already having some votes.
Flail for me.
On the other hand, he didn't really follow up with anything beyond the vote, which seems a little odd.
Unvoted, but didn't clarify whether she meant to lynch or mayor vote Feck. Then she got bogged down with the Gallstone's daykill/whatever that was.M wrote:Unvote Feck
Sorry. Going back for a re-read. Might have half an hour spare.
When I read her first post a little after things had unfolded, I initially thought she sounded indie and confused about which side was the good guys. which made me think "jester", since I've seen that done before once or twice. At first I thought she was godkilled.Callan wrote:gib wrote:If there is a day vig then i don't think you should be trying to work out who it is. But why would a vig target a player who admitted they were a ratskep troll in their first post - that just doesn't make sense, surely you would wait to see how other people respnded?
Yes, and yes.
If there's a Day Vig, we don't need to know who s/he is. Only scum need to know that.
If there isn't - then Gallstones may be seen as a licensed troll, still playing the game and still able to recruit.
Speaking as an ex-vig, I wouldn't have plugged Gallstones on the basis of that one post - I'd have wanted LOTS more info.
It is...interesting.
All said and done if I were a day vig, I might have killed her right away purely for the shock and awe factor, but probably not.
I don't see the post itself as all that strange tbh. I've played mafia with mostly strangers - when I started playing at Ratz and in the two games I've played at FF. The current FF game is the first I've played with Adem, so I don't have much of a read on his usual play. But, he's been deeply involved in the FF game and has contributed some good logic and reasoning.gib wrote:see i would expect you to tell us what you thought that implied about Adem's newbish sounding post yet you're just parrotting what Dp has already told us and throwing contra and gonzon into the mix.oblivion wrote:zigmen also voted irre. he was the first. Adem is new to ratz. He plays mafia at FF. so do contrapposta and Gonzo.
unvote.
His bandwagon vote on Irre doesn't bother me as much as the lack of digging and questioning. He said he was applying pressure. A vote is only the start when you apply pressure.
This pings.Mantisdreamz wrote:I didn't read your post before I posted that Magic Ziggy's absence stuck out to me.gib wrote:i'm being an arrogant prick and you're agreeing with me, look it's no big deal and i have to sleep now anywayMantisdreamz wrote:gib, what do you mean by followy?
Gib, if you are scum, this will be your 3rd time in a row- are your nerves starting to waver a little?![]()
I can see Ani starting a bw on a town if he were scum.
For now, I'd like to hear more from nelli... her posts seemed a little off

If it wasn't MZ's post, what was it that sparked the vote change?gib wrote:That'll do me.

Re: Ratz Drama Mafia Day 1
This seems a little sparse tbh. no mention of higgs, who's been all but MIA.DennyB wrote:This is what I get out of the posts so far.
Townish:
DP – Not usual scum game - way to much help and posting
Gonzo – Playing very town as far as someone I’m not familiar with. (my mayor vote)
MZ
Feck – Seems townish but I suck at reading him although his sus on DP is ponderious.
Scummish (new word?):
Irre – First post pings and does not get much better.
Ani – Seems to be trying a little to hard to be Ani.
M – Lynch votes Feck when I think meant to mayor vote. Does not see Feck’s or my question regarding this. Not paying attention to post as town would.
Unknown/no read:
Contra/Charlou - ?
Nelli – seems to be trying to be helpful (perhaps too much?)
Mantis - ?
OB- something seems off here. Perhaps just on phone and not on s pc.
Gib - ?
Vote Adem.
I have not been able to make much since from the post in a townish view.
How do you figure Irre and Adem both as scummy?
And where's Callan in this analysis?

oblivion, you know how I hate to agree with you, but mantis' post does ping. Nellikin for a lynch vote is about the easiest spot to lay a vote down.

Your appraisal of M is interesting. Scum do seem to neglect details don't they.DennyB wrote:This is what I get out of the posts so far.

I thought that there were nineteen current players, DennyB.
You only have thirteen listed including your Adem vote which I really wouldn't put much stock in to his vote post which you refer to, btw.
Adem's post didn't really ping my scumdar based on my experience with him in past games. It's typical for us at FF to have Day 1 lulz votes and/or to build BWs quickly to determine the flail flavor, if any. However the bandwagons disipate just as quickly in many instances.
I also find it interesting that one of the players not on your list did mildly ping my scumdar though. Your leaving that person out pings it even more. Scum do tend to create partial lists with incomplete info/representation whether those left out are scum or not.

mantis, your vote on Nelli looks kinda cheap and safe in light of some of the other things that have gone on in the thread.

one was yours but the other was me. oh you were the gm weren't you? loloblivion wrote:higgs2 wrote:The other two times I've seen a day kill used was by town. I think. But they were both hysterical, much funnier than this.
Adem, gall's post sounds like she was making silly chit chat, the "fellow mafiosos" sounded off to me. and she called herself a ratskep troll?
I like tr's smug smilie better.
crikey got kicked off the internet early this afternoon and have spent hours with tech support trying to fix it. I need to catch up.

Re: Ratz Drama Mafia Day 1
Hi everyone, sorry for the long delay, i've been having some Winter weather issues.
I think I'm fairly caught up. The votes on mantis are strange to me. Mantis is a very careful scum player, and her vote is sloppy and not like her at all. I do agree it looks bad but oblivion and irre jumping her for it when they know her scum game is making me more suspicious. Denny doing an incomplete analysis also looks fairly odd, and i've noticed that scum have been going out of their way to look helpful lately.
Also callans, gib and MZ's little spat really doesn't help anything.

Maybe you're right. I am going to go have a look at a couple of her recent scum games. I think I've called her on a cheap vote recently, but I can't remember if she was scum in that game.Uselesstwit wrote:Hi everyone, sorry for the long delay, i've been having some Winter weather issues.
