I think it's at point that Zilla likes people to ask if he can print out a hard copy and send it to me along with a copy of the original source material .

It includes that great closing line from a Merkin commodore to his family: "I am glad to hear you are all still gay and hope you remain so."Clinton Huxley wrote:Is it worth a read? Well written?

One shouldn't laugh too heartily I suppose. Our own vernacular will doubtless become outdated and quaint in time.

"Britain regarded the war as a sideshow to the Napoleonic Wars raging in Europe"
Sideshow.
We were more concerned with the damned Frenchies.

I don't think the American Indians wrote many documents and they were the ones that lost ?Gawdzilla wrote:Documents from both sides included, British and winners.Clinton Huxley wrote:Might have a look at that later
British achieved their military objectives in 1812 (by stopping the repeated American invasions of Canada) and that Canada retained her independence of the United States. By contrast, the Americans suffered a defeat when their armies failed to achieve their war goal of seizing part or all of Canada. Additionally, the US lost as it failed to stop impressment, which the British refused to repeal, and the US actions had no effect on the orders in council, which were rescinded before the war started
Still claim a victory to your little side show to an Important war if you like

All you did was fail to invade Canada fail to stop conscription and kill some native Americans Yes that counts in US terms as a win ,It just proves that america should never be trusted at our backs they will take any chance or distraction to sneak claim of victory .Gawdzilla wrote:You lost.

If you read the documents you might get another impression as to whether or not this was a sideshow. The commanders on the scene didn't think so.Feck wrote:All you did was fail to invade Canada fail to stop conscription and kill some native Americans Yes that counts in US terms as a win ,It just proves that america should never be trusted at our backs they will take any chance or distraction to sneak claim of victory .Gawdzilla wrote:You lost.

Yeah because nothing else was happening around that time FFS and when have you ever known a commander to admit that the important stuff was happening elsewhere ?
Tell me which of America's war aims did they succeed in ? they took no ground from Canada all they achieved was dead native americans .It must make you proud
Besides We got an overture ..... you got a stupid song
