whatever, as long as wal mart is going to make a profit. Sell kids whatever they want.

Anti- aging products? Like what, sunscreen?

We're a long way from the days of stoning a painted Jezebel, but I have to say, I'm old-fashioned enough to think 8 is too young to start wearing makeup, except maybe lip gloss and nail polish.

"Oh, what about this, Meg? A pink baby-tee that says 'Little Slut.' That seems pretty hip."
"I don't know if that's really me, Mom."
"Well, they've got one that says 'Porn Star' and another that says 'Sperm Dumpster.' And they're all written in glitter."
"All right, all right. Give me 'Sperm Dumpster.'"

What a cool idea! They can get little make-up kits in their Happy Meals. :ddpan:

Nothing wrong with it though, if shirts are made for 8 year olds that say "cum dumpster" on them so be it, no one is forcing anyone to buy them, same with make up. As long as a profit is made everything else is inconsequential.

Is it just me, or am I the only one that read this as "Chat up lines for 8 year old girls"?
It's a piece of piss to be cowiz, but it's not cowiz to be a piece of piss. Or something like that.

My girls are allowed glitter and lip balm (Pip calls it "lip barn" :hehe: ) for special occasions and nail polish in the school holidays. For xmas they got really cute stick on tattoos (cartoon animals, fairies and unicorns), tattoo pens and hair glitter spray. They have a huge amount of dress up stuff too. It's great for their imagination.

Yeah, playing dress-up is a different category than getting dressed for school ( I used to be a costume designer, so I'm pretty devoted to dress-up.)
And what kid doesn't like temporary tattoos?

8 is definitely too early, however, I see 11 year olds with plucked eyebrows and make up and I think, my, my, this is definitely too young as well.

They should be able to sell the product. There is no age limit on purchase. But, as with our other discussion, 8 year olds don't do the buying here. The products are sold to parents and given to children. I wouldn't suggest that parents be barred from buying lipstick for their kids - I just think it's ridiculous and not something worthwhile to teach a little girl.

What about extra mini-condoms for 12-year olds? There was such a campaign last year in Switzerland.

Not one person on this forum has said that "as long as a profit is made everything else is inconsequential," except you.

Whether a profit is made is irrelevant. It doesn't matter if they lose money or make money. Yes, a t-shirt should not be prohibited for sale. A parent, however, should exercise control over what is worn.

There have been schools in the US that gave out condoms to anyone from 1st grade on.
