Inception
Re: Inception
I've just re-watched the ending on Youtube a couple of times and I'm inclined to agree with you now. There are other things in that scene that also point to the same conclusion which I missed on my initial viewing(pretty obvious ones too
). Bah! I liked it better when I thought it was a mystery; but it's always good to see things from another perspective.

Re: Inception
It was quite lame. Long, boring, predictable.

Re: Inception
I actually quite enjoyed inception. Sure there were a few plot holes but I thought overall it was enjoyable movie. I don't see where you can point out it was amateurish. I'm almost reminded of the conforming non-conformist. ~.~
I can live with doubt, and uncertainty, and not knowing. I think it's much more interesting to live not knowing than to have answers which might be wrong. [...] I don’t feel frightened by not knowing things, by being lost in a mysterious universe without having any purpose, which is the way it really is, as far as I can tell, possibly. It doesn’t frighten me. - Richard Feynman
Re: Inception
Exactly what was intended. I think I liked it (bit pissed). Slightly confused, but managed to predict some things and keep up with the layers. Love the lovely Mr Eames -phwoar!Kaison wrote:So, you saw it as a definitive ending? I thought they left it ambiguous. It seemed that in the split second before the cut away, it was starting to topple. Could have been my imagination though. Or, it was exactly what was intended.
When it finished, Mark said "OK, put the real telly back on now." I replied "But this is the real telly" and he said "Of course. That was a lovely holiday we went on." etc, etc.
Happy days!

Re: Inception
I thought it was shite, and that's a technical critics term. The characters were one dimensional, the plot was repetitive and like a story that an imaginative 15 year old would write, the theme 'ooh is it all a dream, or a dream in a dream, or a dream in a dream in a dream' was boring, the actors were wanktastic, and it wasn't even as good or gripping or involving as The Matrix and other films of that ilk, which are much older. I was so bored, I went on Ratz on my laptop while the boys watched it. I've had more fun and cerebral involvement itching my arse.tattuchu wrote:You too? People kept saying it was very complex. It wasn't. Also, the acting wasn't all that great, I didn't give two shits about the characters, and I don't know if it could be attributed to the directing or what but some parts of the movie actually felt embarrassingly amateurish to me. Overall I thought the film was enjoyable enough I suppose, but entirely forgettable.Gawdzilla wrote:Not true.tattuchu wrote:I think I must be the only who was underwhelmed by this film

And all that wouldn't have been so bad if the whole thing were well done. But the whole time I kept thinking to myself, "I thought this Christopher Nolan guy was supposed to be an ace director? Then why am I so bored? And why does this film look like shit?"stripes4 wrote: I thought it was shite, and that's a technical critics term. A waste of some fine actors, too

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

Some 'effects' were impressive but not enough to hold together weak plot and characterisation. Characterisation is all, for me.tattuchu wrote:And all that wouldn't have been so bad if the whole thing were well done. It's our differences (few though they may be) that keep things interesting
p.s. The 'It's so fluffy!" girl was cute at least.

Why did you hate it, particularly? Did you think it was at all funny?tattuchu wrote:It's our differences (few though they may be) that keep things interesting![]()

Re: Inception
No, it fell completely flat for me. I didn't think it was the slightest bit funny. It seemed like a great premise to me that the scriptwriters really didn't seem to know what to do with. Or maybe they did, but you know Hollywood. The script may have been rewritten a hundred times. Whatever the case, the end product was a completely uninspired and terribly derivative snooze fest. I could see where it was trying to be be funny. But it just wasn't. It seemed to me as if it were written by someone who didn't...well, like, if someone is speaking a language they don't understand, but simply pronouncing things phonetically. It sounds right to them, to their untrained ear, but they have no idea what anything means, and the nuances are completely lost on them. That's how this film seemed to me, as if it were written by someone who was doing their best imitation of an animated comedy without have a clue what funny really is. It just went through the motions.stripes4 wrote:Why did you hate it, particularly? The orphan girls had their moments, though. And I did cry at the end.
