Hold on ... are we taking James Bond seriously now? A secret agent who's been re-incarnated more times than the Dalai Lama? :ask:

I used to work with a guy who was a great fan of the books and he reckoned Dalton came closet to the way the character actually was.

I liked Brosnan as Bond but a couple of the films really sucked, the last one was off the bottom of the charts bad.

Actually, that just about sums it up ... at least Dr. Who is just pure fantasy (like the Dalai Lama reincarnations).

Who do you rate as James, then?
There is only one true James Bond, and that is Roger Moore. Although Daniel Craig, I have to say, is pretty cool :ask:
Connery was the true Bond.

I haven't watched any of the Bond films since Brosnan was replaced.. Maybe because I think Craig is a douchebag. :dunno:

Oh and Brosnan was a cool Bond, he just got too old for the role.

I think the obvious choice for a good Bond is Hugh Laurie - he could bring a touch of House to Bond. This emotive feminization of the Bond character has to be rectified.

Bond was a douche. Craig nails it.

He certainly camped it up, with permission I'm sure. Near the start of the first film not starring Connery he got beaten up by some baddies. After they left he turned to the camera and said with a slightly miffed and surprised tone:"This never happened to the other guy." That's pretty much the only thing I remember of the film.

Connery was playing that as well with "Never Say 'Never' Again."

Pierce Brosnan playing a hitman in "The Matador" ... completely off the wall role for him  ... both he and Greg Kinnear (he's great in every role I've seen him in) in that film
