Or the tl;dr version: If atheism is a faith/religion, then not collecting stamps is a hobby.

Some people even define atheism as a "rejection" of theism/relgion. By simple definition it needn't be - any more than non-stamp-collecting is a "rejection" of stamp-collecting. Atheism per se is simply a nonbelief in deities. There's no more emotional baggage to the word than that. Not even if you'd like there to be.

ATHEISTS on the other hand, may have all kinds of opinions, worldviews and emotional baggage with respect to theism and religious worldviews. And they won't likely all be the same, considering the only one thing we are certain to have in common is the nonbelief in deities. And that's a separate matter from what atheism is, per se.

[/derail] :shifty:
Then they for sudden joy did weep,
And I for sorrow sung,
That such a king should play bo-peep,
And go the fools among.
Prithee, nuncle, keep a schoolmaster that can teach
thy fool to lie: I would fain learn to lie.

Back from hell to say: Chuck, you suck! (What? A gigantic syphilitic phallus...)

That is all.
The green careening planet
spins blindly in the dark
so close to annihilation.

Listen. No one listens. Meow.

lordpasternack wrote:Well, truth be told, I always did find it rather naff to begin with, though had never really bothered to take the time to say so. I found it quietly amusing that Josh would want to sue over the use of it - and thought that if he was successful, at least RD.net might find a more appealling logo for their "Out Campaign".

The issue here is that I didn't for one moment doubt that Josh had indeed laboured over producing that neat little "A". How foolish and naive of me. Well, I was just there browsing my old blog, reading various embarrassing stuff I wrote way back when - when I happened upon a blog entry starting with an "A" - which had been stylised - and suddenly thought to myself "wait a fucking minute…!"

Now either Josh has sold his lovely piece of fontwork to some company or - and as I suspect here - that "A" has always been just a standard font, in a standard colour! Josh's "design" amounts to approximately five minutes on Photoshop, getting an "A" from a menu, making it scarlet and maybe adding some little cute touches.

And the mendacious little fuckwad seriously thinks he can sue for the use of that? Seriously thinks that warrants design work?Fucking LOL! :hilarious:

Richard must hear of this… :hehe:

He could make a case for copyright on the basis of a novel use of an existing piece. (Mind you, if that font is still itself in copyright, then he might have to pay over all of his proceeds to the owner of the font's Intellectual Property)...

(Hi LP by the way! Long time no see/hear!)
FUCKERPUNKERSHIT!

Wanna buy some pegs Dave, I've got some pegs here...
You're my wife now!
