I think this was a game where it would have helped to have a co-gm. I've done games this complex (and more) in the past, but tis the season I guess. With someone also checking my spreadsheet and cced on the PMs, it would have been better.

It would have been interesting if someone had caught it, but the recruitment aspect was out of the bag on day 3.

Good job to all 3 factions! This was a somewhat opaque and tricky design, though there were enough hints in the role pms that players could put the pieces together if town played cooperatively.

I'm just really glad that my first cult game wasn't hopelessly unbalanced. I've wanted to run one for a while, but was scared I wouldn't be able to balance it well enough to make it worthwhile to the players.

Sorry if this was answered, but MZ, what was up with you claiming that when you protect someone someone else dies? Di you make that up from the flavor?

MZ didn't make it up. I strongly hinted that someone might die if protected in his role PM. I just didn't explain under what circumstances (two protections of a player who was targeted for NK both times).

I decided to do it that way rather than via a random roll on each protection because I'm trying to decrease the amount of random elements in my game designs.

If I would have bad a vig kill on fleck I think I would have eventually outed feck as a liar. I don't know what would have happened then. As it was, I just thought it was so funny that ht thought he killed fleck and kept warning everyone to stay away from him.

How could I have caused more chaos? My kills all getting blocked hapered me a bit. And it's weird being sk, you don't go after really obvious stuff, scum or town,because you just want to stay alive. Very different viewpoint. I think I was able to see more accuately from that view, but I miscalulated at the end dammit. I was so tired.

Oh also when I was cornered at the end I was going to post the first post and out as vig but I was so tired.

Higgs & callan played really well, so did MZ. I was surprised people didn't lynch gib on day 3. His change in behavior was a definite tell. I was going to go after him for that, but go killed before i had the chance

i didn't go after him too hard because I didn't want to get rid of too many scum until I had an idea what were were dealing with. I never did actually have an idea of what we were dealing with though. :(

The two vs three team thing screwed with my brain for sure.
But the longer no scum turned up, I felt sure it was town vs cult.
I dismissed the idea of an SK. More fool me.
I had Higgs as cult at the end, not an SK.
I completely misinterpreted Feck's death as being a result of my action, and that left no room for an SK.
All the colt 45 deaths looked like vig kills from the very start.

My role created a wifom tsunami in my own brain that seemed to allow me to stumble through.
But I never had to lie.

There was a bit of a bluff about being careful about hitting me.
I really didn't know what would happen.

Here's my role:

You are Ben Hawkins. You are a healer. But, there is always a price. To give life, you must take life. When you protect someone at night, there will be an effect the next day. The more needed the protection is, the greater the effect.

You are town.

Yes, you certainly did achieve that.

I thought there was scum (specifically higgs and callan.. so I was pretty close to the money :smug: ) given the killings. The cult had the most info but we were still scrabbling in the dark.
