How much of a moron

Post by Trolldor » Thu Nov 25, 2010 2:05 am

Do you have to be to oppose people wanting to keep their lives private?

Read an article in the smh about "anti-privacy protestors' egging houses of Germans who opted out of google street view.

For fuck's sake.

You can't see my house from the road, and google couldn't get through the gate if they wanted. So I don't even have to opt out of the street view. You can see my mess from the satellite view though :leave:

How can you be opposed to privacy of an individual?!

Which is probably why she went unnoticed among a crowd of Christians.

They may be at the extreme end of a spectrum which basically wants all information about almost anything to be available to anyone, anytime. There are some internet fanatics who have a vision of total, unrestricted information flow; in their eyes, those who opt out of Google search in such a fashion are Luddites & sell-outs.

Fanaticism of any kind is a borderline psychiatric condition...

Maybe not even borderline...

(with the exception of Aussie rules fanatics; it is clear and obvious to even the meanest intellect that a refusal to recognise the superiority of the Geelong Cats are pitifull, deluded fools...)

I would say about 39.7% of a moron. Did I win? :tea:

I do not think you actually believe that the statistical majority of internet would condone actions such as harassing those who wish to remain anonymous.

How much of a moron would you need to be to imagine that the image of your house is somehow private to you?
If you can take a picture from a public road, it's not private. Anybody can see it. It's in the public domain.
If you want nobody to see where you live, it's up to you to hide it.
I can't see why google gave people the choice to opt out. But as they did, they have the right, so egging their houses is also moronic.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.
