Revolt over Full Body Scans and Pat Downs at Airports

Problem 1: http://cnsnews.com/news/article/muslim- ... ring-hijab
Muslim Group Advises Women Wearing Hijabs to Allow TSA ‘Enhanced Pat Downs’ Only on Head and Neck Area
Easy Solution 1: Honor their request not to be patted down, and don't let them on the plane. Solved.

Problem 2: http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE6AA55S20101111 People are upset at a scanner image that looks like this:

Easy Solution: Honor their request not to be scanned, and don't let them get on the plane. Solved.

IMHO: Can't be too careful on airline travel. Search the bags, and search all the people. Every bag. Every person. If my nuts get nudged in the process, so be it. People are being quite childish about this. The imaging systems hardly show anything anyway, and people are being great big babies.

Piss off ! If you want to get on a plane then you accept that you will be searched ,x-rayed and your luggage searched ! If you want to insist on wearing dress that identifies you as a member of the minority that blows up 'planes then tough fucking luck ! anyone that tries to get on a plane wearing a full face and body cover should be cavity searched ,and I hope they get thick fingered bull dykes to do it !

As long as they keep the patty fingers search I'll be happy. It's the only grope I can get these days.

I'm sure there's something in scriptures that say the laws can be broken if safety is a concern.

It's like the eating of pork. I have heard that in the quran, if there is no food to eat, you can eat pork to stay alive.

I've been wondering how safe those scans are, X-rays are no joke.

This has become a big hullabaloo over here in the United States.

Now we have some guy who refused the pat down and has now popularized the phrase "Don't touch my junk."

Frankly, I disagree. Thank you, President Obama and HSA chief Napolitano, whatever else I disagree with you on, I applaud your attempts to make flying on airplanes as safe as can be. The concept of the full body scan is certainly reasonable, and I hope that it keeps getting perfected so that it will be able to detect any sort of quantity of explosives or weapon that could be used to hijack a plane. I also applaud the full body pat downs, because people can hide stuff on their persons and a quick pat-down, even if my "junk" gets touched is no big deal.

The following image, even if it was of me personally, would not bother me. Plaster it on the news and distribute copies to the world. Nobody can tell it's me anyway, so who fucking cares?

Thank you Obama Administration and HSA for trying to improve airport security.

Fuck you "don't touch my junk" guy and all the rest of the crybabies who make a mountain out of a mole hill. You folks ALREADY are subject to random searches and pat downs at airports, and have been for 8 years now. I've been patted down at the airport. Sometimes they bump into my penis when doing it. It's no big deal. Who fucking cares?

Does the "don't touch my junk" lobby really think that the TSA people are sitting there giggling at grey and graining images that sort of show the outline of a human body? I'm pretty sure that once they see 100 of the same shit over and over again, they're pretty well unconcerned with whether John Q. Public looks fat or has a small penis.
Millimeter wave scanners produce 30 to 300 gigahertz electromagnetic waves, and reveal explosives if they are denser than other materials. This means that these scanners emit less radiation than a typical cell phone, according to TSA. Whether cell phones are harmful is of course the topic of many debates.
The backscatter machines, meanwhile, are low-level X-ray machines that expose bodies to as much radiation as about two minutes of flying in an airplane does. In other words, if you already use a cell phone and you already fly, you are already exposing your body to more radiation than these scanners will.

So, there's no reason to think the scanner will hurt you, either. Just go through the fucking scanner and nobody will touch your junk. You don't like it, take a fucking train or a boat. Douchebags.

I support full-body scans to the extent that they might allow me to keep my boots on. Takes fucking forever to put the damned things back on and all the seats are usually taken by lazy sods with slip-on footwear. If we're going to continue this shoes off bullshit, there needs to be a designated seating area for those who have footwear to put back on, forfeited the moment the job is done.

Tyner, 31, was on his way to South Dakota on Saturday to go pheasant hunting. He was chosen for a full-body scan and opted out because he thought it was invasive. He was then informed that he would be subjected to a body search. He told the TSA agent, “"You touch my junk and I'm going to have you arrested.”

Tyner likened the proposed search procedure to a “sexual assault.”
http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2010 ... -resistor/

For this douche to liken a pat down, even if they touch his penis, to a "sexual assault" is an insult to anyone whose ever actually been sexually assaulted.

security escorted Tyner out of the airport, after American Airlines refunded his ticket.
Sounds quite fair. He realized he was not willing to undergo a required security check, they gave him his money back and let him go find alternative transportation. What more does the guy want?

Since Saturday, Tyner’s story has added fuel to the Opt Out Day movement which is calling on air travelers to choose not to undergo the full-body scans on Nov. 24, the day before Thanksgiving and traditionally one of the year’s top travel days.
Awesome! If all those travelers refuse the searches, then there will be a lot of available "stand by" seating. Might be able to slip on to an earlier flight.....

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

I'd rather revolt over the terrible reactionary procedures that the TSA uses than the scanners. I don't mind the scanners at all since they are more effective than metal detectors.

“As the TSA agent was frisking plaintiff, the agent pulled the plaintiff’s blouse completely down, exposing plaintiffs’ breasts to everyone in the area,” the lawsuit said.

The lawsuit claims that other employees laughed and made jokes about the incident "for an extended period of time".
Obviously, if this occurred just as she says it did, then that's horrible and should be prosecuted. You don't pull people's clothes off in public and laugh about it.

On the surface, however, something about this seems unlikely. He pulled her blouse down so that it exposed her breasts? What kind of blouse was this? Most blouses have buttons and stuff and cant just be pulled straight down and out pop the breasts.... and what do they mean about exposed breasts? Were the breasts all the way out, or was it a partial exposure of the breasts?

I have my doubts about TSA agents singling out a particular woman to purposefully pull her blouse off and ridicule her in public. Why her in particular? Plenty of busty women go through TSA screening without incident.

I would need to hear the TSA's side of things here, and I wonder if there are non-TSA witnesses..... :ask:

I can not believe that I agree with everything you have said Coito. I am all for full body scans and pat downs, I have had the pat downs multiple times and it is always a female agent who does it and they are always professional and courteous.
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life
