Josh: What really really pissed me off a few months ago was not that the forum went away in favor of the new format (that did piss me off, but much less so); rather it was the way the whole thing was handled. It was the heavy handedness, the unnecessary abruptness, the disrespect of the moderators, the rick-rolling, the deletion of entire posting histories, the utter disdain for us users...

Did Richard explicitly tell you to do all that? If he did, then you made a choice between a nice sum of money and being a decent person. If not then you made a choice between personal amusement and a feeling of power over being a decent person. Either way, you made the choice.

If the suit is baseless, you ought to file a counterclaim for "defamation," since obviously they are publishing defamatory statements that you are an embezzler and stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from them. If that's not true, then their publishing of those allegations outside of the complaint filed in court are false and defamatory.
