Or, have two save files (which you should anyway) and go ahead on one of them, and then load the previous if you can't go back.
I don't wanna read a walkthrough and spoil the surprise
I don't keep multiple save files. Don't see the point :dono:

I killed another dinosaur. This one gave me gold dust, and it was guarding a gold nugget. So that was cool. I also took on two dragons who were guarding an orb. The orb had Titanium bangles. Didn't need them. I already have plenty. What I would like are more Diamond bangles. Oh well. I just sold them.

I went back to the top of the tower and took the lift there. It brought me to a new area. My characters are very nearly leveled up complete. As complete as they can be at this point at least. In fact Lightening and Vanille already are, and the others are close behind.

Doing well. Making progress, I think. All my weapons and accessories are fully upgraded. I'm wondering if I should buy new weapons at this point. But nothing for sale looks appealing. I did get a new one for Hope, and spent a lot of money upgrading it. But it turned out to be weaker than the one I have now :ddpan: Well, physical strength was half of my current equipped model, but magic was twice as powerful. Not sure I want the trade-off

The starting weapons, fully upgraded, will see you through to the end of the game.

tattuchu wrote:I got to the top of the big tower and defeated the beasty on the roof. No one in this tower, including the beasty, gave me much trouble. Maybe I'm over-leveled? Dunno. But now that I'd leveled up some, I didn't take the path at the top of the tower as directed. First I wanted to go back into one of the previous areas and beat those huge robot things I couldn't defeat before. Figured maybe I had a chance now.
They're those big robot guys that Hope sometimes jumps on top of and rides. Except there were two of them that I passed earlier that I could fight. I tried, of course, but got obliterated in short order. This time around, I fought one of them and managed to beat it, but only by the skin of my teeth. What did I get for a score? Zero :ddpan:
Similarly, I went back out into the large field and took on one of the dinosaurs. Again, it was a bitch, took me forever, and I made it just by the width of a c-hair. But I managed to kill it in the end. And got a score of zero for my trouble :ddpan: And the orb it was guarding, which I could finally open, held something that wasn't worth shit to me :ddpan: :ddpan:

So there's um...this HUGE monster roaming around in the field now, in an area currently out of reach. He made the sky all grey and stormy. He's...ah...really big :worried:

Gonna take on some marks now, see what the rewards are. Also I wanna level up all my characters as much as they can level up before I go back up the tower. I don't know what happens at the top of the tower, but I don't want to go to another chapter or something and get that message that says "your characters can now level up more!" before I'm done leveling up what they've got room to level up already.
Tat, you can't level up past what you have access to now until you finish the story, which isn't actually that far away for you. After that all you have left is the marks. If you look at your map and press 'square' it'll show you a list of the ones you've done and the locations for them and the rating you got for the fight. If you really wanted to you could try and 5* all of them. The juggernauts (the things Hope takes control of earlier in the game) are notorious for taking ages to kill, there are a few methods for getting 5* fights but they all require Lv.5 for most of your roles and an item called "gold watch" that you get from killing mark 64. The dinosaurs drop items called Trapezahedrons that you need to upgrade your weapons to Tier 3 and make them even stronger. The titanium bangles can also be upgraded to different kinds at save points including Diamond bangles.

Hope has shite physical attacks and so you want to give him the highest magic stats as possible, give him the weapons and accessories that raise his magic as high as possible and look at the description for the weapons in the menu screen, a lot of them have ambient abilities that have better benefits than just the att/mag stats.

The giant monster is a Fal'cie that you never get to fight, it just gives you other things to fight and makes a lot of noise.

You could google for cheats. :dono:
Tried it. No cheats. I just have to do this.

Looks easy enough here, but by fuck you need a bit of luck too.
Did it meself. Wasn't too hard, took me three tries. I did take about half an hour's break in between each try though, to stop myself from raging everytime the game did some cheap bullshit. The monsters would block constantly, and then out of nowhere hit me in mid-jump so I would go flying off, and always within sight of the final area.
I knew you'd say something like that.

I call bullshit.
I got bored even watching that 1:30 video. Those kinds of games are shit. He does the same fucking move for the entire thing. Hack n slash games are all style over substance, which they have fuck all of.

That's an "extras" part of the game you unlock after finishing the main story.
And yes, it is shit dull and boring, but you have to do it to unlock the extra costumes.

The actual game itself is more akin to Zelda meets Devil May Cry.

He's doing the same moves over and over to beat the challenge. The game itself is awesome. All three of them in fact.

Not my kind of game, I've never been into hack and slash stuff, it's also why I no longer play RPGs, the move from turn based to real time stuff makes them just as shit as these kinds of games.

I've gone the reverse. I can't stand time sinks where you spend 3/5 of your time waiting for your move bar to fill just so you can cycle through eight menus to do one attack.

I got back home around 6PM, had some soup and bread, switched on the Xbox, and continued playing. Looked at the clock, 2:20 AM. This game is serious fun.

How do you kill the giant cactus :irate: :lay: :lay: :lay:
What puzzles me is that this is a level B mark. And yet I've beaten nearly all of the level A marks, but am finding the supposedly lesser mark much more difficult than anything besides the giant dinosaur-type creature. Both kill me within seconds. And this goddamn cactus doesn't pay any attention if I use Solidarity and use Fang as a Sentinel. He blasts us each in turn with that goddamn 10,000 needles, and that's that. I tried using Saboteur on the fucker too, but to no avail. I got that idea while battling tone of the little cacti. I hung back this one time and buffed up before attacking. The son of a bitch got bigger  So I thought, "Aha! Maybe I can make the big one smaller, and thus more manageable." But no.

Anyway, Squidward, you was wrong. My Crysterium did open up right after I beat that owl dude. So, before hopping on the owl plane and going god knows where, I've been spending all this time leveling up all my characters and their accessories and weapons. I can make short work of most enemies now. Except for the big dinos and that motherfucking giant cactus :ddpan:
As I later found out, after deciding enough was enough and finally letting the owl plane take me wherever it was going to take me, I needn't have worried. Turns out I could come back anyway. And the area I was just in, the enemies were dropping that real expensive stone left and right. You know, the one that upgrades your weapons and shit even further.* So I've been doing that. So now everything is mega-upgraded.
And I came back to take another crack at that motherfucking giant cactus. If that doesn't work out, there was the Neochu I can try again. But I've a feeling that it, like the big dinos, are prolly still too tough for me. So if I've no luck with either of these, I'll go back to wherever it was I came from and continue on. I'm anxious to reach another point at which my characters can level up some more (assuming they can) via the Crysterium. All their points are at 999,999

*When I first started getting these various transformational stones, I didn't know what the fuck they were or what to do with them. So I just sold them all :? But I know better now.

Well I finished FFXIII. I couldn't make heads or tails of any of the jibberish, but it was a cool ending nonetheless. And I was pretty well leveled up, so I managed the final battle without dying or anything.
So. Now I can FINALLY level up again. And I can go back into certain areas. But to what end? What's the point now, since I already finished the game? I mean it's not like I can replay the game this way. I can only revisit specific areas. So what? What am I going to do? Wander around and kill enemies? Why would I want to do that? I've already killed them all many times over. There are only a small handful of marks I was unable to beat before. They shouldn't take long to finish off. And then what :ddpan:
