Think about how many theistic charities work, though ...

Sure, they'll feed you and build you a house, provided you come to their place of worship (built before any of the desperately needed houses) and convert to their religion. Alternatively, they'll save a single child for a dollar/some amount of time, excepting that 88 cents of every dollar is going to the organization rather than the child.

As well argued as ever.
I think Zilla might have been referring to the fact that 'one condom' wouldn't have much of an effect - even if it were carefully washed and shared between a whole village!

Who can tell what Gawdzilla means? He's a man of mystery.

What I meant was that if my grandad had worn a condom, instead of fertilising the egg that produced my dad, he wouldn't have produced any CO2 over his lifetime, nor would his seven kids, nor would his many grandchildred.
That's a heck of a lot of CO2 not produced, due to one condom.
And I doubt if electric cars actually help the planet at the moment, they still cause loads of CO2 to be released at the power station.
It's not rocket science.

Then you should have said "one condom MIGHT do the work of . . . " OR "one condom has the potential to do the work of . . . "

English, it's not just a good idea . . .

Back to the topic, I finally decided it was division of labor. Them holy rollers can feed starving Africans and save people from the hell of everyday life, plus stray dogs.

Us treehuggers have a bigger job, to save the planet. The one that can't support the starving masses in the first place.

Free condoms for all then. Or other birth controls. It's the only thing that stands the slightest chance of making a difference.

Jesus and Pope would send armies out to prick holes in the condoms. Other forms would restrict "freedom."

Dogs Trust
RSPCA
RSPB
WDCS

To name just a few. These charities have no religious affiliation just as with atheists.

Actually, it's been previously shown that the best way to cut birth rates is to give women (and girls) access to education. Once the women in a country are educated they stop having large families.

So much for Afghanistan then, but I guess the resources limit growth there.

Yes, there's more to it than making birth control available. The other big thing seems to be making life more secure for the elderly in some way.
A lot of people in third world countries see a big family as a way of providing for their old age.

I don't think it does. Last thing I read said that Afghanistan has the highest birth rate in the world.

Well sure, they need all those toddlers to test for landmines.
