Sometimes, you give in to a impulse to say EXACTLY what you mean.
Quite frankly I cannot recommend the History Channel to any student because of the absurd amount of nonsense programs you air on a regular basis. Taking Nostradamus seriously? Awesome UFO footage? 2012 and we are SO screwed?

I know your primary function is to make a profit, and that's the exact opposite of my site. So, you folks do your thing, I'll do mine, and neither of us will have to bother the other ever again.

Cheers,
Larry J

Subject: World War 2 site on ibiblio

At History, formally The History Channel, we’ve produced a World War 2 site examining 33 topics about the conflict (see full list below). Each topic contains a well-researched and accessibly written article, an annotated photo gallery and an extensive video library (over 450 videos in total), featuring outstanding original footage from the British Pathe archive, interviews with historians and personal accounts of those involved in the war. In addition there are links to authoritative Encyclopedia Britannica articles featured on the History site.

We would be very interested in appearing in your listing of resources for World War II as we believe our site is a valuable historical resource which complements the existing content you feature.

Please take a look at the World War 2 site at:

I agree when I see another Nostradamus show on History Channel it makes my skin crawl. But their WW2 programs are not bad, specially when they let the veterans tell their side of the story, both Allies as well as Axis.

The National Geographic channel's not much better. They do have some fantastic programming, but they have all this other crazy shit too.

And they broadcast commercials for Scientology now in between shows.

Sometimes they are, sometimes they're not. But I can't recommend people watch that channel on the basis of one small portion of the programming. The reason most of the WWII stuff is "good" is because it predates that current editorial policy.

I saw a parody the other day, I wish I'd saved the link: "Science Channel refuses to dumb down science any further."

I wouldn't mind if they made zombie 'documentaries'.

Leo, there isn't really much to add to that. Good video about a lousy thing. :sighsm:
