I shall live on vegetables I grow in the backyard, and an occasional stray pigeon...
Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!

I have the answer to the colllapse of the world economy. It's perfectly simple.
You have a ten percent asset tax. On assets of over a half a million dollars.
That would get the fuckers spending!!
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

Only on big things....I think there is a scaling issue here, although that isn't obvious at first glance.

Yeh, but big things are still classed as assets. And anyway, big things are made by little people.

How does all the world economy collapse ? surely the money has to go some where ? and also I don't eat money. Now if you were predicting a global famine I might worry but If your stocks, shares and financial investments go up in smoke,Then tough luck the system was fucked anyway and we will just have to find a way to house, clothe and feed ourselves that don't depend on the whims of parasites cheats and thieves in expensive suits .

This idea of constant growth fuelled by debt and a service economy is unsustainable .Personally almost every person whose job involves stocks ,shares, banking insurance ,futures ,trading etc is not needed ,the rest of us would be all better off without them .

And I would happily shoot every economist in the world ,myself up close and personal , They are as big a bunch of frauds and liars as the Priests Pastors and cult leaders and as about as accurate as horse-racing tipsters.

Oh sorry I just caught the suB-text of the OP it wasn't about money or the economy is was just noise to justify a political opinion wasn't it ?

Well we all got one I spouse but just like arse-holes there isn't too much need to wave them around in public !

It's value can just vanish in inflation or hyperinflation. There's still the same amount of cash, but it's worth less.

I do find it quite insane that the standard model of economics assumes and requires constant growth.

Me too, and what annoys me more than anything is the lies told and measures taken to achieve the so-called growth.

If you have a house with ten people living in it, and you move one more person in, it's surely complete deceit to claim you have grown the economy of the house by ten percent. You've just made life worse for the original ten.
The same applies to the country. Move in hundreds of thousands of low skilled immigrants, and yes, the figures show growth, but life is worse for all except the rich.
Wages are held down for the poor, and it puts property prices out of their reach.
By all means allow highly skilled people in, but large numbers of low skilled migrants only benefit the migrants themselves, and the fake figures.
The media should only publish REAL GROWTH figures, adjusted for the population size.

No one knows what the economy is going to do. No one even knows how to make a #2 lead pencil.

Only the Invisible Hand knows. And I don't think it's too sure either. The last time I asked, it said, "There are three possibilities: the economy will get better, or it will get worse, or it will stay the same."

But of course, this could be the End Times. Every generation of christians for the past two millenia have predicted that they were The Ones who would be raptured up. And every generation of christians has been wrong. What is the probability that this generation of christians is right this time? Whatever that probability is, that's also the probability of imminent total worldwide catastrophic collapse. But then we'll have a couple of good years while Da Beast is deceiving us with his miraculous world-managing ability. But then it's all downhill from there. The "lucky" ones end up circling The Throne forever, yelling "holy, holy, holy!"

Following the above reasoning, if there is no catastrophic worldwide collapse, then there is nothing to worry about. If there is a catastrophic worldwide collapse, keep your powder dry. Da Beast is on his way to temporarily save the day, so it's not all over yet. Still some good times ahead. Maybe the best times ever. But cut back on the sinning, and when Da Beast reveals his true asshole self, don't let anybody tattoo any sixes on you, and kill yourself as soon as possible if you don't want to get stung by wierd man-headed locusts or battered by giant hail. Just off yourself. Because that is as close to a "rapture" as us atheists are going to get.

I figured out when I was 10 that, just to be on the safe side, I wasn't going to let anybody tattoo any sixes on me. That way, when they start talking about "All those who have his mark...", they won't be talking about me. They won't have anything on me. I'll be clean. So when they say, "...please step forward", I'll just step back.

That's how I plan to survive the worldwide catastrophic collapse followed by the reign of the beast followed by the seven last plagues followed by armageddon and final judgement. Or the alternative boring business as usual. "Survive" being a relative term. Heaven holds a place for those who pray and for those who take advantage of the obvious loopholes.

The only part that worries me is the throne-circling. Don't wanna be a throne-circler. Jeez, don't bible-writers have any idea how to enjoy being dead? For christ's sake, get away from that stuffy throne, find a cloud and charcoal a steak. Have a beer. You're in heaven. Game over. You passed. He can't kick you out.

But I digress.

No, I'm just having some fun with End Times prophesies. Didn't I make myself clear? My cunning plan for surviving the pockylips is to sneak into heaven on a technicality by taking advantage of a loophole.

Hey, it beats the hell out of growing veggies and eating pidgeons.
