I Hope The Pope Has A Pleasant Stay In The UK

There are lots of Catholics and other theistic types who will be glad to see him and hear what he says. I think that fundamentally he's a decent man, certainly a brilliant man. I think he should be left alone to get on with his trip without any hassle or shit.

As for the cost, the British people have been fucked over financially in countless worse ways and nobody has said a thing. Let the man visit and bring comfort, solace and hope to the 6 million or so British people who see him as their spiritual leader.

Fuck off.

Let us think the unthinkable, let us do the undoable, let us prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff it after all.

The popemobile has had a few upgrades. I'm sure Benny knows how to operate this after his time in an anti-aircraft unit:

I am sure Dev is taking the piss. But if more evidence is needed, I read yesterday, that sexual abuse was pervasive and widespread in all sections of the Belgium Catholic Church, leading to at least 13 suicides in recent years. One more example of the evil of that religion.

"The report, put forth by a commission established by the church itself, sketched the harrowing dimensions of priestly abuse over five decades, listing cases involving 327 male complainants and 161 women, and 19 cases in which the gender of the victim was unclear. In one case the abuse began when a child was just 2 years old".

Here's a link if you can stomach it.
