No. None of them.klr wrote:Animavore wrote:27 with none what-so-ever before '68.Hold on ... you've never seen:
Gone with the Wind
Casablanca
From Here to Eternity
Marty
Around the World in 80 Days
The Bridge on the River Kwai
Ben-Hur
West Side Story
Lawrence of Arabia
My Fair Lady
The Sound of Music
A Man for All Seasons
... now, I know some of those are, but you probably watched them when you had no choice, as with some modern turkeys like Titanic, etc.

Well, anything that wins the "Best Picture" Oscar is likely to get a lot of showings on TV. I'm a bit surprised that many of us haven't seen more than we have TBH.Rum wrote:I've seen 75!I have been around longer than most of you mind. Also, I should get out more..

I've seen bits and bobs of most of them as a child and know a bit about the others through osmosis alone, but I was never the type of kid you could make watch something. If I didn't want to watch something I'd simply go off to my room and play with my Legos. When I was a child I usually wouldn't watch something unless it was a cartoon and getting me to watch black 'n' white was impossible.

What about the foreign language Oscar-films?
I love:
1996 "Kolya"
1956 "La Strada" (Oh, the soundtrack is heavenly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtD1PVkY-pg)

Seriously, even extending the list to nominated pictures would still leave out tons of great flicks.
As I recall, that was not an option open to me when I was forced to watch Oklahoma!Animavore wrote: ...

Re: 'Best Picture' Oscar Films
I have seen some that I wouldn't rank as 'best' is all I mean. 'Broadway Melody' is fun but hardly a best in my view, for example...klr wrote:How would you know unless you'd seen them?Bella Fortuna wrote:Yes, I agree... though some of the supposed bests are ratherklr wrote:Well, anything that wins the "Best Picture" Oscar is likely to get a lot of showings on TV.
