Is God a Theory? "The God Theory"?

Given that many of the religionists are incapable of (or at least not prepared to admit to) understanding scientific theory (evolution. gravity etc) as not actually being simply an idea, perhaps it is time to rebrand the god(s) stuff as simply a theory?

The God Theory? No thanks, I prefer facts :D

"God" - at least as it's thought of by most religious people - doesn't even qualify as a hypothesis, because it isn't internally consistent.

ETA: that doesn't mean that God definitely doesn't exist, just that if God exists, existence is absurd. Existence might well be.
