You're exactly right. Please be careful to make the distinction clear. It hasn't been clear to everyone. Thanks and enjoy.
(I'm only blue here because I want to make it clear that I'm not playing the game.)
That's retarded =/=
You're retarded.
Jesus christ, not only is this stupid, but you're actually interfering with gameplay. Go you.
I made it clear that I wasn't playing the game. I also made it clear that you should make it clear that you're not insulting a fellow member with your remarks. I did so at the request of a member who felt that your remarks were, at least, ambiguous. I repeat my request that you make it clearer in your future posts. Again, I hope you enjoy the game.
And again, I'm only blue here to make it clear that I'm not playing the game, but acting as a mod.
Great, we've got further outside spoiling of gameplay. Good going, guy.
Look, we can go over this a thousand times. There's a diffrence between criticizing a
person and criticizing what a person
does. Whether you think the
word I used is a bit harsh is basically meaningless. I didn't criticize anyone
as a person. If you want to draw the connection that a person
who has done a retarded thing is themselves
retarded, that's your own lookout, but it's your problem, not mine.
Part of mafia is that you use language to convince people into doing what you want them to do, or to pressure them into giving you information about their role. By harshly criticizing Don't Panic's gameplay (and note, I didn't criticize Don't Panic, I criticized his gameplay), I was trying to do both. I wanted Don't Panic to get with the program and participate more, because increased levels of participation are good for town, and I wanted Don't Panic to struggle a little and in doing so tell me something about his alignment. Or, perhaps, I wanted to give the appearance that I was doing that, while setting him up for a lynch. However, that pressure is
part of the game and I was very careful to attack the gameplay, not the person. That was pretty tame language there.
