Peace on Earth
Peace on Earth
A giant question...
Will it ever happen, or has man got the capacity to make it happen?
Will evolution eventually make it happen - does peace loving equal smarter which equals a better meme...?

Re: Peace on Earth
I would like to hope so, but I am certain it won't happen within mine, and many more additional lifetimes.
Atheists have always argued that this world is all that we have, and that our duty is to one another to make the very most and best of it. ~Christopher Hitchens~

I agree with Rum.

When I feel sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead.
True story.
True story.

I don't think Science , has made much change to the amount of war on the planet ,I'm certain Religion has been a backwards step .Thinking doesn't seem to work ,people power nor politics work .
War I don't think will stop unless man is back in small survival groups or totally and utter the property of a global company /government /theocracy.
I think as humans use up the resources of the planet (excluding the discovery of almost limitless fusion power )Wars and conflict will increase .

I think that when you wade through the serious discussions and philosophy part of Rationalia the answer screams you in the face.

Let us think the unthinkable, let us do the undoable, let us prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff it after all. -Douglas Adams

Peace on Earth? Impossible while the French insist on being so annoying.
Maybe when the Squigpids of Vulturon V look at us "a bit funny" humanity will unite in vicious contempt for something else

Sad but probably true - instead of helping each other, sharing, caring and exploring new possibilities we will take the path of least resistance and blow the shit out of each other.Feck wrote:I think as humans use up the resources of the planet (excluding the discovery of almost limitless fusion power )Wars and conflict will increase .
Re: Peace on Earth
By peace do you mean a lack or war, or crime, or violence?
I don't know about all three - just curious how you would define it.

"Whatever it is, it spits and it goes 'WAAARGHHHHHHHH' - that's probably enough to suggest you shouldn't argue with it." Mousy.

“I wish no harm to any human being, but I, as one man, am going to exercise my freedom of speech. No human being on the face of the earth, no government is going to take from me my right to speak, my right to protest against wrong, my right to do everything that is for the benefit of mankind. I am not here, then, as the accused; I am here as the accuser of capitalism dripping with blood from head to foot.”
