If Palin runs then there's a strong chance (well possibly/hopefully) that Michael Bloomberg could be coaxed in on an Independent ticket. From where I am he's the best potential president in the US and would have at least a chance of taking it, and he's more than qualified.

OMG it would be a beautiful thing.

I'm not sure how it would work though, politics seeming so bipartisan, the GOP seemingly refusing on broad principles to back Dem measures, so a one term independent President (as he considering his age would be bound to be) currently well-liked by many moderates on either side would completely change the dynamic. Could be just what they need.

"Popular" isn't all that it seems. The Twilight movies appear to be incredibly popular, and I have no idea why. But its fans show up in droves whenever a new movie comes out. The franchise is worth a fortune. But it's not gonna win a Best Picture oscar no matter what. Sarah Palin is similar.

I think all of Sarah Palin's fans are actually just trolls. She's Boxxy, but instead of being an airheaded 14 year old with a bubbly personality, she's an airheaded 48 year old with a sickeningly self-important one.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Boxxy is an act, the Stalkers of the internet tracked her down IRL.

Palin is just a moron.

We need a write-in candidate. I say we make this song come true.

P2: Nobody is perfect.
C: Therefore, I am perfect

Best Picture is awarded by a few folks in the "Academy."

The voters are the moviegoers. That's the problem with Palin's popularity. If the moviegoers all buy tickets (vote), then she'll get elected...

This will be an interesting election, to be sure. Obama needs to find a way to recapture support from the folks on the left who are mad at him for not being the Anti-Bush, and those in the middle who are just treading water (or, too often, sinking) financially. The republican candidate needs to find a way to appeal to the frothing-mad but highly motivated Sarahbaggers while still convincing the middle that he or she is not in fact clinically insane. I think Gingrich is the only guy out there right now with a substantial following in both camps, though he's not much less of a zealot than Huckabee. Romney would be an interesting choice, but he'd be put in the position of having to campaign against a democratic health care bill that's almost a carbon-copy of the one he signed into law as governor, and besides, he's one of them thar not quite Christian types that the extreme evangelicals might have problems voting for.
Who needs a signature anyway?

If Sarah Palin becomes president, the United States will officially have the most retards per capita of any country in the universe.
