At the risk of getting my head bitten off for venturing into this thread, the above is untrue. Mods don't participate in threads they're moderating (unless there is a severe breach that requires immediate attention like illegal material being), and decisions are made with the support of other mods so even if one mod is biased, it's unlikely that they'll be able to sneak it past the others.
The rules over at the place that shall not be named are obviously stricter than the rules here, but different fora have different aims..
Anyway, I do agree that people hitting the report button for ridiculous reasons is annoying. This is why every claim is investigated thoroughly though, so it's unlikely that someone will get a warning unless they've clearly broken the rules and they only get warnings after multiple reminders of the rules (regardless of how we might feel about the validity of those rules). I'd say over 90% of the reports we get over there are closed without any further action because they're frivolous reports, it's only really the more serious violations of the rules that get warnings.
