Yes it was, I do it all the time, you did read the rank under my name? It isn't a secret, or a surprise, if you really want to get worked up I should probably tell you that I have banned people for making puns. Including other staff.
Its all in fun, DP would never do anything like that maliciously. If he did he wouldn't be staff.
Nah, she has a point pluto, playing jokes like I did with someone who knows it's a joke is one thing, with someone who doesn't and isn't used to some of the quirks here it can be off putting to think that such abuses could go unnoticed and unpunished.
True, I was under the assumption everyone knew where you come from and that you do this sort of thing as a joke.

Sorry for seeming flippant Martok.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Sorry that's pure bullshit. I've never been on a forum that permitted staff to alter posts that didn't violate forum rules. THAT'S PURE FUCKING SHIT!!

I guess I better get my licks in now cause I'm sure you and DP will delete these posts.

Unbelievable.
We don't delete posts. :dono:
I'm suppose to fucking believe that?

Yeah, right.

What fucking ever.
You're free to believe whatever you want.

You can believe it if you want, or you can choose not to believe it, it won't change anything.
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

DP wasn't being malicious, Martok. That said, I wouldn't alter anybody's posts on purpose (did it by accident once). We old-timers know what to expect from DP, but I can see how you would feel threatened. Those of us who know DP trust him. We don't like him, but we trust him. :hehe:

He now also has access to your bank account details and took two consecutive loans out on your house.

After your response to me being that I don't listen to music, I have decided you are just really sarcastic and a lot of people have missed your humor in the last couple pages. Thank you Andy Kaufman, thank you.

Which was better, the one I posted or the one Martok did?

Wow. Martok, chillax. Holy shit, dude, it was just a bit of silliness gone awry :dono:
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

No, it was assumed that Martok would like it, without actually having any basis for this. Not everyone will take to jokes in the same way, as people should well know by now.

This was a discussion about music/musical taste, and such discussions can get very tetchy - something which people should also know. This one had an edge to it even before the invisible edit.

An invisible edit is (even in jest) a potentially very serious matter. It is in no way comparable to a plainly visible "quoted edit" of someone else's post, which is what it was a response to. If I realised that someone had surreptitiously edited one of my posts, I would probably blow a gasket. Martok is right: This is basic trust issue. IMHO, not even all the other "wacky" behaviour and norms here allow that line to be crossed.

There's now a good chance that we have lost another member for good. How many times do I have to say it? For this forum, members are hard to gain, but easy to lose. :ddpan:

I believe that the staff owe Martok an apology. And this discussion should be split off to the in-depth discussion area.
