I just watched Bronson. What an outstandingly perfect film. Every scene had me on the edge of my seat with anticipation. The style of filmmaking was beautiful too, reminding me a bit of Terry Gilliam.

Is that a bio-pic about the life of Hollywood screen sensation Charles Bronson? I bet that's really interesting.

I'm watching a cyborg film called Knights on CBS Action right now with Lance Henrikson and Kris Kristofferson.
It's definitely in the so bad it's good category

I liked it too. And yes, now you mention it, it is very like a Terry Gilliam film. Tom Hardy played a great part there, as he always does.

I actually feel a lot of sympathy for the real Charlie Bronson. I find it sad that someone who has never actually committed a murder will never get out of jail and is no longer allowed any visitors.
He'll never even get to see this particular film about himself - although, I did hear that he'd listened to it over the phone. :ddpan:

Predators.

It was.... surprisingly good. I actually enjoyed it, never groaned once, never flinched at cheesiness. Given all the recent movies in the franchise, that I enjoyed it as much as I did was a huge surprise.

A must see for anyone who enjoyed the original.

That said, not a classic, not a movie that made me go 'wow'.

Yeah, I definitey felt sympathetic towards him. Though I did before watching the film too. It seems that if they'd tried harder to rehabilitate the guy rather than give him his first lot of lengthy solitary confinement, he'd possibly not be anywhere near as brutal as he is today. It's hard to form a worthwhile judgement without the facts, and we never really hear the details. I certainly think it's wrong that a guy who's never killed or raped anyone should spend the rest of his life in prison.

Stil, "Chuck: The Charles Bronson Story" is a box office smash just waiting to be made isn't it?

Well I liked Magnolia. So last night I watched another film by the same director, There Will Be Blood. Liked that one as well. This director certainly gets powerful performances out of his actors. Today in the mail I should be getting yet another film by this director, Punch Drunk Love. Anyway, check out this vid from the Magnolia soundtrack. Am I imagining things, or does Aimee Mann look like someone we know?

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Watched Bad Boy Bubby last night. Good for a laugh. It's described as funny, poignant, and bizarre. It wasn't as much of any of those things as I thought it would be, but I still enjoyed it.

I have "Creation" - a Darwin biopic that was promoted as delving into his struggle with his theories vs. the impact they would have on the religious world around him - sitting on the desk waiting to watch. I did technically have it in the player and on the screen last week, but I ended up busy with other matters and not able to pay much attention to it. From what I have seen so far, though, my hopes aren't very high. From the brief glimpses I caught of the film, apparently:

- Darwin had long conversations with the ghost/memory of his deceased daughter
- He took lots of showers

 :dono:
Who needs a signature anyway?

So there's nude scenes?

No, just a few shirtless receding-hairline-Darwin shots of him having water poured all over himself. It was part of the "Gully's water cure" regimen he was undergoing to deal with health problems the movie implied were related to his difficulty in accepting his daughter's death.

I put this one on again last night and was actually able to pay some attention to it this time, and thought it was relatively good. It was mainly about his strained relationship with his wife over his gradual loss of religious belief.
